wine-20050725 : warcraft 3 cd issue
Hi all,
I just installed wine-20050725 from source, and have a problem with warcraft 3
(patch v1.15). The install runs fine (when mounting the cdrom without the unhide
option), but the game doesn't. Launchin the game with : "wine Warcraft\ III.exe
-opengl" results in a popup message saying "no disc inserted" whereas the disc
is actually in the CDROM drive. I saw a post on

Warcraft 3 & Starcraft run _without_ a CD crack!
I got Starcraft and Warcraft 3 working without a CD Crack using wine.
The trick is a link in the ~/.wine/dosdevices directory to your mounted
CD-Rom directory with the name: "d:"
for example if you starcraft CD is mounted in /media/STARCRAFT then
enter the following commands:
cd ~/.wine/dosdevices
ln -s /media/STARCRAFT d:
Don't connect the the Battle.net. Starcraft will crash

Slackware Wine Warcraft 3
Hello again,
Last time on Gentoo I fixed this error, but it's not entirely 100% the same error message so I'm a bit confused. As stated in the title, this time it's on Slackware and I've installed nVidia's graphics drivers from nvidia's official website.
I've installed the official no-cd patches (given by the game producers themselves, not some illegal patch) and have

Problem: Warcraft 3 and OpenGL
Hi, I've got a problem considering wine, and no one seem to be able to
help me at my distro-forum, so I'm trying this.
This is my problem:
I having some difficulties running Warcraft 3. I have several games
running flawless in wine (Diablo 2, Starcraft, Fallout and others), but
running warcraft 3 is too slow. I have seen in other threads on this
forum that one needs opengl to run it

Warcraft III not recognizing
this problem has been plaguing me for the better part of today, and i believe i've exhausted google. Or rather i've reached my maximum effort of trying to figure this out myself.
I am using the newest version of wine ( 1.1.18) and ubuntu 8.10 x64. I've installed wine and warcraft III with no problems; however, when i try to run wc3 it prompts me to insert the CD (which is definitely

Warcraft 3: TFT or RoC in Wine
I'm trying to get Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne or Reign of Chaos to work in wine version 1.3.35 on Gentoo x86_64 kernel 3.0.6 (oss USE flag is included).
However, although installation of both games went smoothly, no matter which one I use, I get this error when I attempt to play:
($GAME) was unable to detect a disc in your CD-ROM drive.
Please make sure your ($GAME) disc is in your CD-ROM

Running Warcraft 3 + Listchecker a hosting tool
Running on a fresh install of Ubuntu Intrepid and WINE 1.1.10 I'm having some issues running warcraft 3 (the only game I play, so this is somewhat offputting). When starting Warcraft in normal (direct3d) mode the top and bottom panels stay there (making the game unplayable). I'm able to use -opengl and the game fullscreens correctly, but then when I start listchecker (a hosting tool

Warcraft 3 Install
Hi. I'm trying to install warcraft 3, but it isn't working. I'm running linux
2.4.19, XFree86 4.2.0, and wine from cvs as of evening 08/12/02. Wine seemed
to compile and install without any problems, I used the wineinstall script,
and everything seemed to go ok. Winecheck gives me a 99.00% score, 2
suspicious, but they're trivial. I put the cd in, mount it, and run wine

Warcraft III can't find cdrom
Hi,
After setting the windows version to winxp I managed to install this
game without a problem. Playing however is another matter. It appears it
can't find the CDrom.
I'm using the deb-packages from winehq (version 20050111) in a sid
chroot on an AMD64 pure64 install with kernel 2.6.8 (Debian package
2.6.8-10). I copied the config file from the sample in the documentation

[1.3.20] Mouse stuttering issue in World of Warcraft
I just installed 1.3.20 from the PPA on my Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit installation.
One of the new features is the "Option to clip the mouse inside fullscreen windows". I wonder if this is related to the problem that has now cropped up since 1.3.19.
In World of Warcraft when I move my mouse the position resets at constant intervals (~ 2 seconds). (When moving the mouse ever two seconds the

Warcraft III and DirectX?
Hi,
I've just installed Warcraft III without any problems. But when I try to run
it with one of the following commands:
wine war3 -opengl
wine "Warcraft III.exe" -opengl
a dialog box appears which tells me that Warcraft could not find DirectX 8.1.
My wine version is 20050725, my warcraft III version is 1.00 and I'm running a
Debian Sarge system with linux-2.6.8.

wine-20050419 crashes warcraft 3
Hi all,
I recently compiled wine-20050419, and decided to give Warcraft 3 a try.
The game installed nicely but crashed at runtime, freezing my computer.
I had to hard-reboot the box to recover. Unfortunately, i am unable to give any
trace or log, because each time i launch Warcraft it hangs, leaving me with no
alternative but rebooting the system.
On the other hand, the world editor works more

Problems with starting World of Warcraft under Ubuntu 10.04
Hey everyone,
I recently had to reset my whole computer and I thought, I can finally get rid of Windows and just use Ubuntu.
But now, I have problems starting World of Warcraft under Wine, which should actually work fine!
I have rendering activated, but when I start WOW with this:
Code:
:~/Wine/World of Warcraft$ wine Wow.exe -opengl
I get the error:
Code:
