wine freezes entire System
hi there,
I suppose, it's not an actual WINE problem, but I hope, you can at least tell me, where to get help.
I'm running "Lineage 2" with WINE 1.3.10 on Kubuntu 10.10 with proprietary ATI graphics-driver.
after a (seemingly) random period of time, the entire system freezes. the only thing possible is moving the mouse-cursor, which doesn't change it's style anymore,

String manipulation, insert delim
Hello All,
I've been using R for two years now and I am happy to say this is the
first time I could not find the answer to my problem in the R-help
archives. Here is the pending problem:
I want to be able to insert delimiters, say commas, into a string of
characters at uneven intervals such that:
foo<-c("haveaniceday")#my string of character
bar<-c(4,1,4,3) # my vector of

Averaging uneven measurements by time with uneven numbers of measurements
I have a new device that takes measurements anywhere from every second, to
every 15 minutes (depending on changes). The matrix has a date, time and Y
column (Y is the measurement). For three days it is 25,000 rows. How do I
average the measurements by every 30 minutes so my matrix is 48 rows per
day? I have been working on this and cannot figure out a simple method. Any
ideas? Thank you.

how to fill out the empty spots when using rbind or cbind?
I have uneven vectors I want to use cbind or rbind to combine them into a matrix. Is there a way to make it so that R would not return error msg saying they're uneven?
Thanks.

uneven vector length issue with read.zoo?
I truncated and simplified my code and the read in data that I'm working with
to isolate the issue. Here is the read in data and R script respectively:

[Puppet Upgrade] Puppet agent does not work
I upgraded Puppet master from 2.7.6 to 2.7.20 on CentOS5.8_x86_64.
But when I tried to launch ''puppet agent -t'' on one of staging servers, the
puppet daemon did not work and got heaps errors.
I have no idea what made it wrong and how to fix it.

plot, y-axis, uneven scale???
Hello,
I have a question about the y-axis of plots. Actually I had about 60
values. About 80 percent of these values are less than 0.2, then the other
20 percent values are more than 4,max is 10. So when I plot these values
together, the y-axis's range will go 0 to 10, and my major values (80%
values <0.2) will be pressed around 0 on the bottom, while other several
dots will scatter in

Kubuntu and Wine Problems
I have run into a few problems in getting applications to work with Kubuntu. I'm running Kubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.23.
If installing an application, I get errors during the process and the installation is aborted. If just running certain executables, the Wine Loader shows up in the task bar but the disappears after a few seconds without the application running.
I was able to install Call

Thanks for your help.

Unusable Font after upgrading to wine 1.4 (Ubuntu 12.04)
Hello,
today I upgraded my system from Kubuntu 11.04 to 12.04 and installed wine 1.4.
Now, most my Windows apps (e.g. the "configure wine" program) have ugly, almost unreadable fonts
TTF-Fonts are installed and working properly when explicitly chosen, but all the "standard" fonts (like for menus, window titles and so on) are bold, grainy and not anti aliased.
I don't know

Evening folks:
Not sure where this fits into the picture so bear with me for a few
moments while I think out loud to lay out the particulars of my problem.
-would love to be employed using R for a living but so far I have just
worked with it on my home machine to develop a basic level of skill with
it.
-I run Ubuntu linux 8.04 LTS on a machine with a 2.5GHz Celeron
processor and 1.2GB of memory.

Hi Peter,
I've trawled through some of the archives about the

Using image/contour with unevenly spaced data...
Is it possible to plot unevenly spaced data with image/contour function?
Below is an example of the type uneven data that I'm trying to plot with
image/contour functions. For example, I would like to have the x-distance on
the x-axis and y-distance on the y-axis and then the temperature values
determine the color used. Unfortunately this data was sampled such that it is
not evenly

Splitting a set of vectors in a list
I have a set of character vectors of uneven length
that I have stored in a list. I can easily enough get
any column of them using lapply but what I want is to
be able to create a matrix of them. Other than some
kind of brute force looping approach I have drawn a
blank.
Would somebody please suggest something? Thanks
Example.

Xorg hangs in kernelspace with qxl
Hello!
I'm experiencing the following task hangs at least 2-3 times a day when
using a Kubuntu desktop in KVM via a SPICE client. This has occurred
with the stock kernels in Kubuntu since Kubuntu 18.04. This makes the VM
unusable as a graphical remote desktop and the hung task prevents
Kubuntu from gracefully rebooting (e.g. "reboot" via SSH). Any ideas?
