Bond Issues
I have a machine I just deployed w/ tg3 interfaces, I have setup bonding
on this same line of server (HP DL380 G4) a million times. I saw there were
changes recently to how you configure a bond and have my setup configured
according to: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-7431
The HP switch has a LACP trunk defined on the two ports. Problem is, when
rebooting, I need to issue a `service network

Hi list,
I have a *very* strange problem, unfortunately it's kind of a show

reload nic modules after boot
Hi all, it''s happening a strange thing:
After I boot the xen dom0 network is unavailable: I have to unload the
network modules and load it again ( rmmod / modprobe) and execute a
service network restart)
This is strange, what do you suggest me to check?
Thanks

pciback module not working
This issue was brought up about a year and a half ago. So I''ll bring

I''ve got an infiniband network and am attempting to pass the

I''m working with standard CentOS 5.2 on both guest and host with their

Eth1 problem on CentOS-6.3
I am trying to transport a dd image between to hosts over a cross
linked gigabit connection. Both hosts have an eth1 configured to a
non routable ip addr on a shared network. No other devices exist on
this link.
When transferring via sftp I received a stall warning. Checking the
logs I see this:
dmesg | grep eth

xen randomly crashes all VMs hosted on iSCSI NAS array
I inherited a xen server that is setup to have all the VM images hosted on
an iSCSI mounted NAS array. We been experiencing a random (about every 2-3
days) issue where xen would crash all the VMs, leaving nothing but the
Domain0 running. What appears to be happening is something causes the iSCI
mount to hiccup. Running "vgchange -a y" and restarting all the VMs brings
everything up.

machine with 2 ethernet cards e1000 and forcedeth
I am using centos 5 x86_64 AMD64 X2 4200+. I am current on yum update.
My machine has two ethernet cards. e1000 (eth0) and forcedeth (eth1)
[root at fsdsigns2 ~]# more /etc/modprobe.conf
alias eth0 e1000
alias eth1 forcedeth
sometimes on boot the forcedeth driver thinks it is eth0:
[root at fsdsigns2 ~]# dmesg | grep eth

Problems getting nouveau to work with either Geforce GT710 or Geforce 9800GT on ARM Cortex-A9
The Geforce 9800GT also shows different behaviour without nvidiafb in
the kernel. I get lengthy messages from nouveau, like the ones found
in the email attachment.
It also eventually gets into the lightdm login graphical screen, but
with this card the screen is highly distorted, despite the mouse
cursor being properly displayed and moving around properly.

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
Hi,
kickstarting fails due to problems with host resolution, even though the
network seems to be properly configured through DHCP. eno1 and eno2 are
both attached to the network, but only eno1 gets an IP via DHCP. Still
`curl` cannot resolve the mirror host and the kickstart host during

Problem with Bonding Driver
Hi,
I've using linux bonding in active-backup mode to combine two pairs of
GigE NICs (eth0/eth1, eth2/eth3) into two logical bonds (bond0/bond1).
All is working fine. However, I would like to specify a primary
interface for each bond. This means I need to specify different
options to the bonding module for each bond. I have tried every
conceivable incantation of options and cannot get the

CentOS 5.7 Ethernet bonding - order of enslavement matters?
Setting up bonding in active-backup mode 1 (using ARP monitoring)
on a server, it looked OK, but pulling the active link cable
didn't actually work, it didn't fail over.
Eventually with manual playing around with modprobe, ifconfig,
ifenslave, etc., a solution was stumbled upon: enslave the eth1
device before eth0, and all is good.
Why this should matter is a puzzle - I could not find

bonding
I four nodes setup to do active-backup bonding and the drivers loaded
for the bonded network interfaces vary between tg3 and e100. All
interfaces with the e100 driver loaded report errors much like what you
see here:
bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth2,
disabling it
e100: eth2: e100_watchdog: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex
bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for
