Dropbox on CentOS 6?
Hi, I just spent a couple of unnerving hours trying to make Dropbox work on CentOS 6.6. Is there a way that 1. Actually works? 2. Doesn't include jumping through burning loops? Error on new install "View Application''s Environment"
Hello. I recently installed Rails on Gentoo, and did a "rails /var/www/localhost/htdocs/parallel_bible/" just to test. Everything *seemed* to work fine, but when I clicked on the "View your Application''s Environment" link, this happens (screenshot attached): http://thegoban.com/rorerror.png Any ideas? Is this normal? I know it''s not actually stopping me

rpm requires logic
Exists the possibility to define an RPM requires statement with a logic? Like: Requires: mysql-server OR mysql55-mysql-server MTAs like postfix have "Provides: MTA" to provide such facility. I do not see such possibility for DB packages ... Thanks -- LF

Downloading e-mail from a master mail server
Hi all: I am trying to migrate a small company from Microsoft Exchange / Outlook to Thunderbird. I am evaluating e-mail server software. We have an Internet provider that we do not really want to rely upon. We also do not have the resources to maintain a mail server visible from the outside, especially regarding security updates. Each employee has an e-mail account on our current Internet

doveadm proxy kick in director setups
Something I noticed on a 2.1.7 director test cluster (two directors, three backends): 'doveadm proxy kick user' will kick all connections for that user on that director only. Any additional connections on other directors will remain active unless the command is run on all directors. Are the proxy and director sub-commands intended to be separate and distinct in their operation? If so,

Delivering locally through the Submission Server
Hi all: I am learning Dovecot step by step. I have enabled the Submission Server, in the hope that I would not need to learn other MTAs like Postfix. The Submission Server is very comfortable: it picks up the existing Dovecot configuration, so that you do not need to configure any user authentication separately. It is working fine on my test setup. My first thought was that, if the recipient

Dovecot Director behaviour when two or more fail
Hi, On the Dovecot wiki here http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Director it says the following: "The directors are going to connect to each others in a ring. For example if you have servers called A, B and C, director will create connections A->B, B->C and C->A" I am curious what happens in a scenario when two or more directors fail and potentially break a ring in half, do the

interesting kvm lvm collision issue
I've been running into a reproducible problem when using default LVM volume group names to present block devices for virtual machines in KVM, and I'm wondering why it is happening. On dom0 I make a default VolGroup00 for the operating system. I make a second VolGroup01 for logical volumes that will be block devices for virtual systems. In VolGroup01, I make two lv's for one system:

Hi all, anyone having any problems with restarting the director? Every time I bring down 1 of the director servers, reboot it, or just restart it for whatever reason, im seeing all kinds of problems. Dovecot generally always gives me this error: Jan 20 22:49:55 imapdirector3 dovecot: director: Error: Director 194.109.26.173:444/right disconnected before handshake finished It seems the directors
