similar to: Installing wine on mac

Greetings, I have a windows program that i would like to run on the Mac. It is my understanding that i could install Wine on the Mac. And then my windows program will run from there. Is that how it goes? I am concerned about the complexity of installing wine on mac, and all the 'other stuff' it needs. How much 'other stuff' is there.? Thanks...vmars316

I have only just found out about Wine and I an trying to instal it on my MacBook Pro 13 running OX10.6. When I get to the download page and hit the download button I'm taken to a screen with numerous choices, but I can't find anything tht mentions OX10? Can anyone let me know where I'm going wrong please?

I've been reading around, so I found this solution (on another topic here) for enabling DOS support on Macs with wine, something having to do with "patching the linker". Can anybody either explain this in simple terms, or point me towards a guide for doing this?

This is driving me crazy. I have wine downloaded on my MAC. It's in my application folder. I have MIRC downloaded and it's also in my Application folder. But, when I turn off MIRC, and turn it back on, the whole thing wants to reload. Very annoying since that means it's not saving settings. Any ideas?

Hi, I cannot seem to be able to install champions online no matter what. I have tried installing it with wine bottler, wine skin, crossover, and crossover games, and every time the same thing happens: a window pops up saying program error, an error has occurred. I'm far from an expert on the subject matter. Maybe some app that was written for Linux/BSD or whatever is looking at a LD_LIBRARY_PATH on its own and its nothing to do with the OS?
