Black screen after install / Centos 7.2
Hi, i just installed CentOS 7.2 on my little "server" but i get a black
screen during boot. It is a Asrock Am1h-itx mainboard with an AMD 5350
CPU (onboard graphic).
I created a raid 6 but i dont think thats the problem, as the boot
process goes pretty far. I would even say its going until X should
start, but it is a server install, so i guess there is no X.
Can someone tell me what

Centos 7 and Kably lake: black screen
I got a new laptop as my old one died: an HP Probook 470 G4.?
I installed Centos 7 1511.
The laptop has a Kaby Lake i5 CPU and an?
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 134e (rev a2).?
Fedora recognizes it as a GM108M/930MX. This may give some hints, but
it is not that the standard kernel does not support it, this output
comes from the 4.8.7 mainline kernel which should support this

Tomboy on F12 to Gnote on Centos
I'm trying to convert my Tomboy notes from an old F12 system to Gnote
on this CentOS 6 system.
What I have found buy googling so far:
- Tomboy notes used to be stored in $HOME/.tomboy
- Some Tomboy upgrade moved them to $HOME/.local/share/.tomboy
- Gnote stores its notes in $HOME/.local/share/gnote
- Gnote has a Tomboy note converter add-in
My Tomboy notes are in /home/steve/.tomboy so I had

SOLUTION: Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller - GDM login doesn't show up
This problem is so damn weird and frustrating that I thought it would be
worthwhile to post this solution for anyone who may run into this situation in
the future, since I was unable to find any mention of this after much
searching, and no error messages appear in any logfiles that I could find
either.
This applies to a machine with a Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated

X login screen fails on the first try
I set up a Centos 5 machine a couple of weeks ago and everything was working
perfectly. It survived a few reboots and whatnot with no problem.
I moved it to another location on Saturday afternoon and, again, it booted up
and worked fine.
It was rebooted this morning and now the graphical login screen doesn't
appear. Everything appears to load normally but once the text login screen

network automatically connecting on boot after new service installation
2 weeks ago, i had my internet service changed from copper DSL to
fiber DSL.
now, every time i reboot, internet connection is automatically
connecting on boot.
before last update to 6.6, i could configure connection, now i can
not bring up configuration window to disable auto connect.
because of uneasy feelings about leaving computer up when i leave home,

Installing Xen4.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS issues (VGA crashes at boot-up)
Hey Guys !
I am trying to install Xen 4.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a 64-bit machine.
Basically the issue that I am facing is that when I try to boot up my
Domain0, my video display driver crashes and the system simply hangs.
I am using an Intel graphics card:
$ lspci -v | grep VGA

Garbled screen after RAM Scrub on boot
Dear All
I am using Centos 7 with Xen 4.6 on a Dell Poweredge T430
When the machine boots, after the 'Scrubbing Free RAM' message, I get a screen filled with little white squares until the login prompt, so I cannot see what is happening as the machine boots. Also there is nothing on the screen when I reboot.
My /etc/default/grub is

CentOs6 - Ltsp
Dear All,
I'm sending this mail in relation to a post on the CentOs 6 forum :
https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=32545&start=0#forumpost139559
CentOs 6 works great so far, and I do not want to sound impatient, but
I'm eager to find out when Ltsp would be
available on CentOs6 - or even in Rhel6.
We now use Kiwi-Ltsp on OpenSuse and

NV40 under Debian
Hi list,
my media center PC is freshly installed with Debian 10.2 "Buster". It doesn't support Geforce 6800 GT (NV40) boards through the nvidia nor the nvidia-legacy drivers any longer. The legacy drivers worked up until Debian 9 "Stretch", but no longer.
I know that the hardware works because I can boot SystemRescueCD from CD and get a flawless desktop presentation on
