[LLVMdev] Compiler name: Nāga
Hi, the idea of a dragon theme reminded me of the dragon-like serpents
called "Nāga" from Cambodian mythology, among other places.
Here's a brief link explaining the specific Cambodian meaning -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_(mythology)#N.C4.81gas_in_Cambodia
I like this as a name, because it's unique short and easy to type and

HooDaHek 0.6 Released
HooDaHek 0.6 has been released.
So soon, you say? Well, the best laid plans of mice and men...
Steven BerkHolz is a pretty sharp stick and said to me, "Why don't you
have HooDaHek change the CallerID when it looks up the name in the
database on an incoming call?" Much head smacketh ensued, and as I made
that change for Steven, I noticed that I had the way wrong version of

Re: P2V conversion failed with "/run/lvm/lvmetad.socket: connect failed: No such file or directory"
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your response,
We have followed the steps mentioned in
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-November/msg00015.html
Now we are able to connect the V2V Conversion Server from Physical server
after booting from livecd.
Once ssh connection established, "Start Conversion" opens up another UI
which has necessary info. of hardware (eg. CPU, RAM, HDD

Asterisk::AGI Alternate Download
I see that the regular site for the Asterisk Perl AGI module is down (or
something), so I've made an alternate download from my site:
http://www.nathanpralle.com/downloads/asterisk-perl-0.08.tar.gz
(just in case somebody was looking for it)

AMD Liano A8 Processors supported on CentOS 6.x?
Hi.
Red Hat is saying that AMD Liano A8 CPU's are not supported by
RHEL/CentOS 6: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/articles/65431
Is that true? What can I expect if I try to install CentOS 6.3 on PC
with that CPU?

Booting problem after update, how to track order of starting services
Hi.
I have updated system/server that worked for a long time. It was upgrade
from 6.4 to latest.
After restart, system freezes after most/all of the daemons are booted.
From interactive mode I found out that services starting are:
...
...
atd
jexec
atieventsd
libvirtd
certmonger
libvirt-guests
local
nxsensor
nxserver
webmin
As soon as I allow webmin to pass, system freezes. BUT, if I stop

yum update fails on perl dependancy
I finally started yum upgrade for CentOS 6.0+CR x86_64.
yum reports that I have already installed
perl-5.10.1-119.el6_1.1,
but perl-CGI requests for
perl-5.10.1-119.el6 from ISO/base repo.
Can someone advise on the best course of action? Logical would be to
downgrade perl to the one from ISO file.

luks and aes-ni
Hi,
Short version: If I had a CPU with the aes-ni [1] feature would luks use it?
I know that Upstream Vendors Security Guide [2] says:
...snip
The default cipher used for LUKS (refer to cryptsetup --help) is
aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 (ESSIV - Encrypted Salt-Sector Initialization
Vector). Note that the installation program, Anaconda, uses by default
XTS mode (aes-xts-plain64)

Help with VMware ESXi manager for CentOS - newbie level
Hi.
On my new job we use VMware ESXi (Free version), but my colleagues use
Windows on their PC's. I am allowed to use CentOS Linux, but I have no
prior experience with WMVare.
I now (today) have to install CentOS 6.x minimal on that ESXi server, so
I am trying to wrap my head around whole ecosystem.
What should I install on my CentOS 6.x so I can access/manage ESXi
server and manage

Interesting, my only comment is if we pick this we need to just spell
it Naga.
Naga are also snake people in D&D (yea... I know).

Slow login to system without internet connection
Hi.
For a long time I am puzzled why, when internet connection is gone
(beyond first router, outside of subnet) SSH (and telnet?) connection is
drastically slowed.
Same behavior, but less impacted is observed when system boots without
working internet connection, and I am not sure, but I think even access
to SAMBA fileshares can be/is affected. Affected systems are mostly

seeking current supported crypto co-processors
Howdy,
<this messages is cross posted in freebsd-security and freebsd-net>
I'm seeking current cryptographic coprocessors supported in FreeBSD 8.x. By perusing through the crypto-dev (and subsequently referenced) man page(s) I found this list:
Hifn 7751/7951/7811/7955/7956 crypto accelerator
SafeNet 1141/1741
Bluesteel 5501/5601

CAST5 encryption
Hello all,
I was wondering if CAST5 encryption is currently being added the
openssh? It's a steller block cipher. No one's found any weaknesses
in it yet and it's free for non profit use.

MySQL and Asterisk
Is there a guide anywhere which runs through how to set up asterisk with
mysql?
I've looked and almost all the document misses out relevant information.
Thanks

CentOS 6 (G)parted re-aligning existing partitions?
I used Hiren Boot CD (Some tool on it) to create 8 partitions for
Windows XP and CentOS 6.
Now, CentOS6 Disk Utility reports for first partition:
"Warning: The partition is misaligned by 512 bytes. This may result in
very poor performances. Repartitioning is suggested.",
and similar warnings almost all other partitions.
Since I already have both Windows (NTFS) and CentOS 6
