How to boot into a different kernel
CentOS Community, Is there a command to boot into a different version of the kernel? I believe this is setup via grub.conf but unsure. There are a few different kernels loaded into /boot but I want to see if there is a command to boot into a different kernel as a single instance or permanent if needed. Please advise [root at titanium boot]# ls -ltr total 62768 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root

what to do about [abrt] full crash report kernel taint?
I have a machine with a recent install of centos (2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.x86_64 kernel). It crashed 3 times this week, and sent emails like the one below complaining about kernel taint. I've gone back to a previous kernel to see if that helps, but otherwise I don't know how to investigate this. What should I do? Here's stuff from the log and one of the emails:

Ndiswrapper refuses to install?
Hi everyone! :-) I have a problem with making a wireless USB dongle work under CentOS 6. The dongle is known to not work natively under Linux and last time I used it (cca 3 years ago) I managed to get it working using ndiswrapper. This time I was hoping to make it work again in the same way. But the "yum install kmod-ndiswrapper" reports the following (among other regular stuff):

domU doesn't see all memory
Hi, I'm running CentOS 6.2 x86_64 as xen guest on a CentOS 5.7 dom0. The host is running 2.6.18-274.7.1.el5xen, the guest 2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.x86_64. Memory for domU is set to 1024 MB and "xm list" shows these 1024 MB. But "free -m" on the guest system shows only 652 MB. When I set up a CentOS 5.x guest with 1024 MB "free -m" shoes 1024 MB. blue screen instead of login screen
I installed Centos 6.2/i386 on a machine last night with a 1920x1080 monitor. The installer ran in graphical mode and looked fine. After the install was finished I rebooted and ran through the "firstboot" stuff (set up user, etc) with no problem and, again, it looked good. After that, when I should have seen the gdm login screen, all I got was the blue background but not the box with

Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 34, Issue 82
If I use Asterisk to initiate two call legs with a callfile, dialing the channel and setting the extension to an AGI that dials another channel, and both dial by SIP connection to a switch that allows only G.729, do I need a G.729 codec running on Asterisk? Do I need 2? And if I use the callfile to connect by SIP to a switch that allows only G.729, then use the extension AGI to play a file

thanks for your reply but i think ${BRIDGEPEER} will work only when both channels are connected. i want to get channel-id before dialing so that i can dial using that channel id. > ${BRIDGEPEER} is probably a good way to do what you want.. if Channel > A calls Channel B, and you want Channel A to "get" the channelID of > Channel B, as long as the two channels are bridged,
