Bug#554805: patch to enable routed networking in HVM+ioemu
tag 554805 + patch
thanks
The problem to solve is that qemu-ifup assumes the world is always
bridged, and vif-routed does not know of the concept of TAP devices, and
even if it did, it has at this point no way to get at qemu's TAP device
anyway.
The following set of patches help run in the ioemu-HVM situation:
* xend-image.py.diff : modifies the HVM loader so that when running in

RX dropped packets on guests subnets
Hello,
I have first a question (and then may be a problem), that I have difficulties to understand and eventually to investigate.
On each of my guests VM, I see constantly a RX dropped number increasing , Even if the VM does nothing !

Centos 6 - Networking: Some Queries
Hello all
I am setting up a Centos 6 machine with one network card & one onboard
network port. Both are recognized & work. Onboard Network port is unused
yet, but is required for dedicated access to LTSP LAN, which would allow
older PIII machines to boot from this system. I have installed LTSP but
again Networking seems to be the problem area, as the clients won't boot
from this

route seems to be not affecting the network behavior
Hello,
I’m trying to set a default gateway on an isolated lan (because one of my VM get access to an other lan).
I’m trying to use the option <route > but this doesn’t affect the default route on my VMs.
Here is the network xml
<network>
<name>prd-private-lan</name>
<uuid>2222222222222222222222</uuid>
<bridge name='virbr3' stp='off'

Bug#671018: [xen-utils-common] qemu-ifup breaks networking by changing mac address
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch
--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
when you use "hardware" virtual machine (with qemu) with xen
configured for bridging
the network script treates a tap interface and then
/etc/xen/scripts/qemu-ifup adds it to the bridge.
That would be ok but tap interfaces have a random mac address and the
bridge

centos 6.4 networking problem
On this system I have two nics
If I look at the network connection There is nothing there.
If I do ifconfig -a the two nics are there
If I do ifup eth0 I get device doesn't seem to be present
If I do ifup eth1 the system search to determine the IP information for this device.
Do somebody have an idea to bring them up?

performance with libvirt and kvm
Hi,
I am seeing a performance degradation while using libvirt to start my
vm (kvm). vm is fedora 12 and host is also fedora 12, both with
2.6.32.10-90.fc12.i686. Here are the statistics from iperf :
>From VM: [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 199 MBytes 55.7 Mbits/sec
>From host : [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 331 MBytes 92.6 Mbits/sec
libvirt command as seen from ps output :
/usr/bin/qemu-kvm -S -M

Wireless fails with Netgear MA401 card.
Alle,
I have recently installed CentOS4.4 on an old Fujitsu E7110 laptop. I'm
trying to get a Netgear MA401 card installed for wireless access but
when I configure the card and start the network I get:

SuSE 9.3 domU /sbin/ifup workaround
Hi all
I have a SuSE 9.3 domU. It has a eth0 interface, corresponding
to some vif interface in the dom0. Running
ifup eth0
doesn''t seem to work. This means I don''t get any network.
It seems that /sbin/ifup relies upon /sbin/getcfg but getcfg
does not seem to find the right configuration for the eth0 device.
A attached a patch below with a work around for this.

I am running Xen on Debian wheezy. I switched from routed networking to bridged
networking. Now I can''t seem to get eth0 to come up. When the network script
tries to bring it up, it gets an error: RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Any tips? details below

set a different default gateway in an isolated network
Hello,
I would like to set a specify default gateway for my VMs. However I’m not succeeding
Here after is the isolated lan, where I added the statement <route address='10.0.0.0' prefix='8' gateway='10.10.0.7’/> where my aim is to route to the 10.10.0.7
What should I do , to make it works ?
Thanks

Network questions
Hi all,
When creating a new network:
1) Is there a way to disable automatic spawning of dnsmasq on network creation? I read that leaving out the <DHCP> section should accomplish this, but that is not what I am seeing.
2) Is there a way to disable automatic installation of iptables rules?
3) For that matter, what is the purpose of the default iptables rule set? Doesn't

Bug#671018: #671018 -- set tap device mac address in qemu-ifup
tags 671018 +patch
thanks
This issue has been fixed upstream for 4.2 by using the same hotplug
scripts for tap devices as for vif devices rather than using a special
qemu-ifup script. I don't think this is an appropriate thing to backport
to 4.1 for wheezy so therefore I think the right fix is as Pierre
suggests to set the MAC address in the qemu-ifup script.
In terms of a patch to the
