setting a number of values to NA over a data.frame.
This is probably a simple problem but I don't see a solution. Problems in programming a simple likelihood

surf.ls
Hello, I am looking into description of surf.ls(spatial) and see under value $beta - the coefficients. When I use polynomial of degree 2 to fit surface I expect to get 4 coefficients: z = a_1 x^2 + a_2 xy + a_3 y^2 + a_4 What do beta really stand for and why do I get $beta vector of length 6? Hello I have the following data frame which I read from an EXCEL file, and when i try to call one of its columns with a space in their names I am not being able to. Is newhidups driver still in memory just before o/s halt ?
Hi, I have set-up the ups shutdown feature provided by Red Hat /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt script, which will issue a "upsdrvctl shutdown" command just before powering off the system. It appears that this command fails as if the driver is not available. I wonder whether the usb driver / stack is still available at this very late stage ? , how to express bar(zeta) in main title in boxplot
