FW: logistic regression
Sorry. Let me try again then. I am trying to find "significant" predictors" from a list of about 44 independent variables. So I started with all 44 variables and ran drop1(sep22lr, test="Chisq")... and then dropped the highest p value from the run. Then I reran the drop1. Migrate DC from Small Business Server 2011 to Samba 4
Hi, I want to migrate a Windows Small Business Server 2011 domain controller to Samba 4. The SBS2011 has about 40 users and 100 client computers. Also about 50 GPOs are in use. Furthermore there is Exchange running on the SBS and it has to stay there for the next couple of month (it will be replaced by a new mail system later). So far I think I can either try to migrate or start from

Forward Stepwise regression with stepAIC and step
Dear all, I cannot seem to get the R functions step or stepAIC to perform forward or stepwise regression as I expect. I have enclosed the example data in a dataframe at the end of this mail. Note rubbish is and rnorm(17) variable which I have deliberately added to the data to test the stepwise procedure. I have used wateruse.lm<-lm(waterusage~.,data=wateruse) # Fit full model

SBS Backup User
Have a samba 3.0.22 joined ADS to a SBS windows 2003 R2. I am trying to get the SBS Backup to use a samba share. Username TPMMLAW\SBS Backup User is invalid on this system TPMMLAW is the domain. How would I map the "SBS Backup User" to a valid unix account. Any pointers? Vernon

Machine-level shares on Windows server
Hi, I have Samba 3.0.22 running on a VM-hosted ubuntu 6.06, with the VM existing to host a Bugzilla server for our development team. I'd like to be able to periodically backup the MySQL database to a remote device on our domain. The PDC is Win2003 SBS (named simply "sbs"), & I have successfully got the "bugzilla" machine joined to the domain. The bugzilla computer

virtualizing Windows in Cetnos
Here is what i am looking to do. i have a server SBS 2k3 machine. I want to load linux on it then virtualize the SBS server inside the linux installation. I would then be able to compress backup just the sbs virtual file instead of screwing with the backup programs inside of windows(even symantec's and yosemitie's stuff leaves much to be desired). What are my options both free and

drs replicate to Windows 2003 DC fails with WERR_DS_INSUFFICIENT_ATTR_TO_CREATE_OBJECT and WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED
My samba4.11 server will only replicate one way: windows -> samba. Replication from samba -> windows fails. Details follow. I have a Samba 4.11 domain controller (fs1) that was added to an existing domain that had a Windows Server 2003R2 domain controller (fs) and Windows Small Business Server 2011 (sbs). fs1 is running on Debian 7.6 My issues seems similar to

An addendum to my PDC troubles.
OK, I lied a bit about not being able to add users. I can do that just fine, if I remember to set the UID above 1000. I still cannot add a computer or log in as root with a client machine. I can change password just fine from WIN2000/XP for all users, including root. I get the error message "The system cannot find message text for message number 0x%1 inthe message file for %2" only if

Microsoft will enter VoIP market in earnest
Thanks Curt, that's "too cool for school", any idea on when this is coming to the MS SBS platform? I use SBS for myself at home and would love that level of functionality included. Does Asterisk therefore handoff voicemail storage etc to Exchange for this level of integration? Cheers, Dean ________________________________ From: Curt Shaffer [mailto:cshaffer at

Opening files issue.
Hi all. I've looked, and I do recall a posting from earlier addressing this, but I can't get the right combo of key-words to google up the solution. If I open a file (say a .doc) from windows explorer, the program launches and that file loads quickly. If I use the open dialogue from the application, the file loads slowly. Looking in performnce monitor I see that if I load the file from

Windows 2008 SBS suddenly disappearing on Xen 4.0.0
Hi all, when running Windows 2008 SBS on Xen 4.0.0, it disappears after some time (longest time I had it running was 20 minutes). In /var/log/xen/qemu-dm-win1.log I find: xc_map_foreign_batch: mmap failed: Cannot allocate memory xc_map_foreign_bulk error 12 Anyone any idea how to troubleshoot this? The Hypervisor has 16 GB of RAM, currently 2 GB are allocated to Dom0. This specific DomU has 8

[PATCH] fuse: clear stat structs (RHBZ#660687).
Not all the fields of struct stat are actually filled by us. This caused rubbish to appear in the microseconds fields, which were then used as base when changing atime/ctime (with e.g. touch), triggering EINVAL by futimens/utimensat when those rubbish values were out of the range allowed for microseconds. --- src/fuse.c | 2 ++ 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+) diff --git a/src/fuse.c b/src/fuse.c

Default values in control list of function
In building a function for a package, I'd like to set the defaults in a control list, e.g., makeg<-function(parameters, eps = 1.0e-7, control=list(showwork=TRUE, rubbish=1.0e+101)){ etc. } This does not provide showwork or rubbish within the function if control() is not fully specified. Copying others, I've previously set the control defaults within the function then matched

RE: Outlook Web Access behind shorewall firewalldoesn''t work
Thanks for such a quick reply Tom! Any suggestions then as to what I might do other than putting a second nic in the SBS and opening it up for web access? I don''t like the idea, but since MS SBS includes fireall that is actually what MS suggests. Winbind not looking in correct Win2k3 SBS User container
Hi, We've recently upgraded a network from Win2k to 2k3 SBS. We were using samba with security = domain (which I believe stopped working - I was on vacation at the time the upgrade was done) and are now using security = ads. We're using samba-3.0.23b-0.1.35 on SuSE Enterprise Linux Server 9 SP3 x86_64 The samba machine has been sucessfully joined to the domain with: kinit

Backing up Xen DomU''s - Tape Drive - LVM
Hi, I am planning the roll out of a Xen dom0 running CentOS that is going to be running two DomU''s CentOS and Windows 2003 SBS. I am planning on using LVM for the disks as this (so i have read) increases i/o performance compared to image files. I need a solution to back up these machines and I have came up with the following two ideas: Idea 1, Backup the machines as images (lvm
