FreeBSD, Libmd5, samba 4.9.4 & "smbclient -L" (using password) -> core dump
I just noticed that smbclient from Samba 4.9.4 /built by myself) on FreeBSD 11.2 coredumps when called like this: smbclient -L <hostname> > % /liu/pkg/samba/4.9.4-liu/bin/smbclient -L filur00 > Enter username at AD.LIU.SE's password: > Abort (core dumped) … if it is linked against /usr/local/lib/libmd5.so (which is part of “libwww”). If I remove libmd5.so and recompile

Cannot access share tevent_req_timedout
Hi all, I am running an smbclient 3.4.7 on a ubuntu server 10.04. This is a local network whose hostnames in the network are setup manually through /etc/hosts. Zeus is a server which contains a music share which I am trying to access. I haven't created any users or passwords. The idea is that anyone within the local network should be able to access the share with read permissions, so I

DFS redirection to sub-folders beyond share
Hi, I already posted this to smb-clients, but I believe that is a very low volume list. We have a very complicated dfs root. Now I'm not positive that this is how we should have done things, but it works very well with Windows clients, so it hasn't been thought about here. This does not work with smbclient or smbmount. I'm using freshly built smbclient from Samba 3.0.21a.

Spectralink 8002
Hello, I hope this isn't too off topic, but I'm attempting to set up a Spectralink 8002 Wifi phone with our Asterisk installation, and seem to be running into a brick well (more of a wall than others that have posted their experiences). My problem is that the phone boots, associates with the wireless, grabs an IP (tried static too - same thing), contacts the TFTP server for firmware, then

SIP client floods port 5060 and gets blocked
Hello, Is there any reason why an IP-phone would pounder on port 5060 ? My firewall blocks the public IP because it thinks the remote IP is port scanning on port 5060. I think the phone is just registering but for some reason it does this repeatedly in a very short time. new dc does not allow login..?
To fix this, i would start with. First, set the first AD-DC its resolv.conf to SERVER_IP=$(ip -o route get to 8.8.8.8 | sed -n 's/.*src \([0-9.]\+\).*/\1/p') search $(hostname -d) > resolv.conf.new nameserver ${SERVER_IP} >> resolv.conf.new nameserver 8.8.8.8 # because we want a fallback to internet, for now. >> resolv.conf.new mv /etc/resolv.conf{,.backup} mv

smbclient: invalid mid from server! ???
Hi, our backup program regularly invokes smbclient to generate a tar-file from an NT-Workstation share. What it does is /usr/samba/bin/smbclient \\\\maclaurin\\maclaurin password -U backup -E -W MATH -d3 -Tc - > maclaurin.tar Now this is the output: Client started (version 2.0.6). resolve_lmhosts: Attempting lmhosts lookup for name maclaurin<0x20> resolve_hosts: Attempting host lookup

smbclient tar problem
Hello all. I'm using Samba 2.0.7 on Linux, and I've been having a problem I can't figure out. I was backing up a coworker's machine using the smbclient tar capability. He's got Win2k. I was looking at the tar file that was generated, and in some of the deeply nested directories, I'd get stuff like this: ./Projects/From MM58836/SPC internal Web/New
