[LLVMdev] Unisys Compiler--LLVM
Unisys-Lead Engineer Location: Roseville, MN Unisys is looking for a Compiler Specialist for our facility in Roseville, MN. We have a ClearPath mainframe product line that has been running on custom CMOS CPUs. The Unisys 36-bit OS2200 CISC mainframe architecture has been evolving for many years and is too expensive to continue implementing in custom silicon, so we have also produced a version

Winbind problem with more details.
Everyone, One of our developers was kind enough to insert some bug checking into the mod_auth_pam and mod_auth_sys_group so that we could see a little more of what was going on with our authentication failures. Here is what we just saw. Two of our users NA\connelmp and NA\guminssa both started getting messages that they were not part of the required group. Here is the log for

Samba performance on the mainframe
Hey Team.. We notice that repeated file writes to the Samba server slows down under moderate loading. Has anyone else had this fall off in performance and if so, what did you do to correct it? regards.. OT: Supporting mainframe terminal emulator activex controls in IE under Linux?
[This is really just a post-it note to myself, but I'm cc'ing it to wine-users in case it's useful to others.] I was told recently that a company wanted to migrate some desktops to Linux, but ended up not being able to because they had a web-based application that 1) required IE, and 2) used an ActiveX control that implemented a 5250 terminal emulator to connect to a mainframe

handling nulls while reading mainframe file
Hi, I am trying to read in records from an old main frame file. Each record is 640 bytes. I had some success using the following statement: iconv(readChar(con, nchars=640, useBytes = TRUE),from="IBM037",to="",sub="#") What I have found, however, is that ocassionally a record will contain a Null halfway through, which causes readChar() not to read the rest of the

Samba On The Mainframe
Greetings, This is my first posting. I read that Samba can run on USS OS/390 but are there tips or tricks that can be shared? I am a AIX systems engineer (13mos) with 13 years experience as a MVS systems guy. Our current release of OS/390 is 2.8 . I already found a lot of information about Samba on OS/390 in the download page and I'm trying to make sense of it. But if there is any

Getting a modem connection working via Asterisk
Hey all, I had pretty much figured that getting a modem connection working over the internet (via VoIP) wasn't really do-able. Last night, I was working on a friend's laptop, and needed to configure his dialup account; just to see what'd happen, I plugged it into my Vonage ATA-186, and much to my surprise, was able to get consistent 28,800 connections. Vonage just uses standard SIP

dialplan logic for conditional DISA on incomming 800 number
Hi All, I have an 800 number from Clearpath. Good folks, highly recommended. I'd like to be able to use the 800 humber for DISA access as well as a published number that I give to my customers. Does anyone here have any example of dialplan logic that would handle normal 800 incomming calls, then allow me to press a key, enter pin etc to get into my DISA sequence? Thanks, Michael --

Can Samba run on Unisys?
We need to save a file from Windows server 2000 to a Unisys mainframe. I have seen bits and pieces on the web that suggest this may be possible but nothing definitive. Can somebody advise? If not Samba, is there another software that will do the same thing? We currently use Samba to save files from Windows to Unix. Thanks very much. Steve

[LLVMdev] LLVM job opportunity at Unisys
During the past 12 months we have been doing some exciting research to accelerate the execution performance of a instruction stream for a 36-bit CISC mainframe architecture being emulated on Intel platforms. This research has been focused in the area of dynamic binary translation. We are using the LLVM IR and JIT in our project to execute thousands of small compiles to optimize this execution

[PATCH] fuse: clear stat structs (RHBZ#660687).
Not all the fields of struct stat are actually filled by us. This caused rubbish to appear in the microseconds fields, which were then used as base when changing atime/ctime (with e.g. touch), triggering EINVAL by futimens/utimensat when those rubbish values were out of the range allowed for microseconds. --- src/fuse.c | 2 ++ 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+) diff --git a/src/fuse.c b/src/fuse.c

Trying to do aseries of subsets with function or for loop
I want to calculate the "scat" etc, values for each level of id, output a vector of these values that is a <- c(scat, sdog, srat, sbat ) and do an rbind on them. Each level of id has a different value of rate. So far it it looks to me like I can do this by a series of repeated subsets of Df butI would think that I should be able to do this with a function but I am not having

Calculating home ranges using mcp in adehabitat
Hello, I've been trying to calculate home range sizes (for Icelandic geese!) using minimum convex polygons with the adehabitat package. I've tried to use the R code shown by demo(homerange) in adehabitat and when that didn't work I've fiddled around with it but to no avail...Below is the output of the demo that I've attempted to follow, followed by a subset of my data (for one
