Samba 3.6.0: unable to list Active Directoy users "WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND"
I am also experiencing the same problems. I am running 3.6 on AIX 6.1. I do have a 3.5.8 installation running without problem (I understand some major changes have happened.) I took the smb.conf from my 3.5.8 install and changed appropriately for 3.6 (At least as far as I catell).
I followed the steps Michael posted on the bug report.

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your answer. I gave a try with source4/scripting/bin/samba_upgradeprovision --full.
Of course I did it on a virtual machine clone of our dc without network interface.
The script fails with :
../lib/ldb/ldb_tdb/ldb_index.c:1252: unique index violation on objectSid in CN=Account Operators,CN=Builtin,DC=removed,DC=com, conficts with CN=Op?rateurs de

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
The 2 commands works :
# getent passwd MYDOMAIN\\usertest
MYDOMAIN\\usertest:*:10430:14513:user TEST:/home/usertest:/bin/bash
# getent group MYDOMAIN\\"Utilisateurs du domaine"
MYDOMAIN\utilisateurs du domaine:x:14513:
I have to put "Utilisateurs du domaine" instead of Domain\ Users because
the Windows AD is a french AD.

forcing a file to have the same uid from parent directory
Hi,
I have a little problem, sometimes the administrator must put a file in a
home directory. But the owner of this file is root, not the user which
have the home directory.
Example :
/rsrv/data1/home/toto toto Utilisateurs 0700
+ toto.id root Administrateurs 0700
+ fichier.xls toto Utilisateurs 0700
I would like to kown how I set up my

upgrading from 3.0.13 to 3.0.23
Hi all
I just downloaded the latest sable rlease (3.0.23b). I compiled it and
installed it without any problems.
When I restart servers, shares configured like this :
[xdavid]
read list = user
browseable = no
path = /home/users/xdavid
write list = xdavid
only user = yes
user = xdavid
works fine, but these shares (using goups names) doesn't

Exclude directoy
Hi!
Just a stupid question:
If I want to exclude all directories in different locations named for example
"binary" but not files with name "binary", which exclude command I have to use?
--exclude *binary*
...I thougt that this is the right one...but unfortunately it excludes also
files which contains the "binary" name!?
kind regards

Problems Authetincating users by group in Active Directoy
Hi,
I got a Samba box that is part of an Active Directory. It is working
with the most basic functions, but I want to start customizing the
security a little bit more. For that I want to grant access to
different shares by group using "valid users = @AD+group" in the
smb.conf, but hasn't worked.
I increased the verbosity of the log files and this has caught my attention:

How to create a directoy with R
Hello, I am trying to create directories with R. I would like R to
create directories because it is platform independent. I tried using
file() and searching in "R Data Import/Export" but I did not succeed.
I think it must be some function since exists the unlink to remove
directories (and files).

Samba and ISA Server
Hi everybody,
I have a Samba 3.0.4 PDC configured on my network. Previously, there was a Windows NT 4 PDC, that was migrated to my Samba / OpenLDAP configuration.
Everything is working fine, except our ISA Server.
Indeed, ISA Server was previously configured to let users that belong to the "Internet Access" group to surf. During the migration phase, we did not change anything.

Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Hello,
I set a share on a samba 4.7.1 as domain member with an Active Directory
controler, this share is used by all domain users.
All users from the AD domain have a primary group "Domain Users", and
secondary groups to filter access on the folders of the share.
I noticed that when a user create a sub-folder/file inside a "Top
folder", the default permissions from the
