Pending upload
Hi,
One last thought... We haven't heard anything back from Bastian (for which I'm
sorry, I would really have liked if he had joined us) and in the meantime
consensus seem to have formed on -kernel and -devel, or at least there was no
more answers... Which means at least people don't disagree strongly with the
conclusions taken...
In the meantime, though, there's still the upload

Debian users: which samba bugs fixed in 3.5.8 would you like to see fixed in Debian 6.0 "squeeze"?
Hello,
I'm one of the maintainers of samba packages in Debian.
As of now, Debian squeeze provides samba 3.5.6. As per Debian policy
wrt updates in the "stable" releases of the distribution, providing
3.5.8 (and later) is not an option we'll be considering for future
updates. The policy of our release team is indeed more conservative
than the policy of the Samba Team (no offense

Graphics driver fixes for squeeze kernel-xen ?
Hello,
Is there a plan to update the dom0-capable kernel to the latest
version from xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch? A lot of graphics related
fixes are now merged, and they make most of the graphics adapters
(and KMS modesetting) work ok.

Problem with init script of tinc in debian squeeze
Hi,
I am running Tinc on debian squeeze, when I reboot, the tincd daemon
is not running at all, despite having the right link in rc2.d:
root at box /etc/rc2.d [9]# ls S03tinc*
S03tinc
When I do /etc/init.d/tinc start, it works fine.
Any idea what is the problem?
Best,

Re: Screen resolution changing not working (Debian Squeeze)
Check that you have required mode(s) listed in 'xrandr' output. If not, add them to xorg.conf. Alternatively you can use virtual desktop mode.

Debian Squeeze puppet 2.7+apache+passenger
Greetings,
I am somewhat new to puppet, and have run into problems configuring my
debian 6 puppet master running puppet 2.7 with apache and passenger. Most
of the documentation I''ve been able to fine regarding how to do this
properly seems very outdated. I was wondering if anybody could point me in
the direction of some current documentation/tutorial for this?

Boot failure with squeeze 4.0 hypervisor, fixed with later 4.0-testing
Hi,
I have a machine that was previously running the lenny-packaged
hypervisor. I upgraded it to squeeze recently and it failed to
complete a boot of the dom0 kernel.
I reported this on xen-devel? and was advised to try building a
hypervisor from the tip of 4.0-testing. I did this and this seems to
work for me.
I'm guessing that since wheezy will be released soon there is little
interest in

Debian squeeze as Dom 0?
Hi,
I''m going through the experience of learning XEN. My intentions are to track down changes (at source code level) required to make a kernel into dom 0
kernel (if we consider that particular kernel is earlier than 2.6.18). while going through Xen wiki I have a confusion in my mind.
Debian squeeze 6.0 is said to be Dom 0 kernel. Debian squeeze is using 2.6.32 linux kernel and once we

I tried to follow the instruction on README. After ''make'' and ''make

version number
I searched online but couldn''t find a satisfactory answer to this
issue. Does anyone know how to resolve my

Trying to upgrade domU to squeeze
Hello,
Not sure this is the right place to ask Xen user-questions.
I am running Lenny and try to upgrade a domU to Squeeze.
After the installation of a new xen-kernel in the domU and upgrading
udev I did a reboot but then the kernel does not find the root anymore,
and it's dropping me to a shell. When I look into /dev/ I don't see any
disks or partions.
Is here somebody who can help me

XCP: No Ethernet card was detected on Debian Squeeze domU install
Hello,
I am trying to setup Debian Squeeze as domU, but I get the message below
during the setup process:
No Ethernet card was detected on Debian Squeeze domU install
And it asks to select the driver to me.
I followed the instructions at page 27 of the guest.pdf manual, but there is no
indication on how to set-up the bridge in order to make the ethernet interface
available for the guest.

debian squeeze gotchas using xen 4
I installed a debian squeeze desktop client today and a squeeze, with xen 4,
on one of our servers.
I had problems getting libvirt on the client to create virtual machines on
the server. The fix was to create a symbolic link called xen to
/usr/lib64/xen-4.0 on the server as libvirt was looking for files in that
path.
Is there anything else I should be aware of/issues regarding this setup? I

No sound on Debian Squeeze after building from source
I'm running on Debian Squeeze and I am unable to get sound working after building wine from source. I'm running on wine version 1.3.34 and problems seem come from the mmdevapi dll file.
Anytime I run an application that tried to use sound (including winecfg) I get:
Code:
err:mmdevapi:DllGetClassObject Driver initialization failed
