Kernel 3.4.6: cifs problem
Hallo, I've just tried kernel 3.4.6, self compiled, with the ".config" from kernel 3.3.7. Samba version 3.5.14 (slackware) When I run a script with (among many other lines) the command mount.cifs //$share/$src /path/to/$target \ -o noperm,sec=ntlmv2,$Loginparms (which runs without any problem under kernel 3.3.7) then I get an error message (some cifs problem), and the

smbclient: preoblems with samba 4.3.x
Hallo, "smbclient" doesn't work with the slackware packages samba-4.3.1 and 4.3.2, it has worked with 4.2.1 and older versions. smbclient answers with "segmentation fault", on two testing machines (where 4.2.1 has worked well). The slackware packets are compiled with ./configure \ --enable-fhs \ --prefix=/usr \ --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} \

smbmount deprecated - what about Windows 9x?
Hallo, I've just installed Kernel 2.6.25.2 - works fine. But now when I use "smbmount" for mounting shares from my Win9x clients the system (kernel) tells me smbfs is deprecated and will be removed from the 2.6.27 kernel. Please migrate to cifs. But at least Win9x seems not to like cifs. Mounting via smbfs works since years, mounting (with the same options) via cifs

time for "balance"
Hallo, linux-btrfs, I''m working with btrfs for some days. btrfs-progs-20101101, kernel 2.6.35.8 (both self compiled). First step: mkfs.btrfs /dev/sdd1 mount /dev/sdd1 /srv/MM for a 2 TByte partition, worked well. Copying about 1,5 TByte data to this partition worked well. Second step: btrfs device add /dev/sdc1 /srv/MM btrfs filesystem balance
