Apple Mac OS X Lion and Samba PDC
Apologies if this has been discussed before I've just gotten around to
joining.
Those who have an Apple Mac Dev account may already be aware that Apple
has withdrawn Samba from its next major OS release due out later this
Summer.
This leaves a certain segment of the market who used the PDC functionality
unable to upgrade or being forced on to Active Directory in order to
support Windows

Braindead Autoreply filters... WAS Re: samba Digest, Vol 102, Issue 8
It would be nice if one of the list moms would immediately unsubscribe
AND PERMANENTLY BAN idiots who use braindead autoreply filters.
This should be official list policy for ALL email lists...

source addresses for IP traffic between jails
I'm setting up a server environment where I've got a bunch of jails
running using aliased IPs on the same interface. I'd like to be able to
use ipfw to place limits on the traffic between jails, but I'm running
into problems.
When I use tcpdump to look at TCP traffic from one jail to another, it
shows both the source and destination IP for the packets as being the IP

Problems since 3.12.7: invisible files, strange rebalance size, setxattr failed during rebalance and broken unix rights
Hi,
after 2 years running GlusterFS without bigger problems we're facing
some strange errors lately.
After updating to 3.12.7 some user reported at least 4 broken
directories with some invisible files. The files are at the bricks and
don't start with a dot, but aren't visible in "ls". Clients still can
interact with them by using the explicit path.

sieve and antispam
I have a fairly standard antispam/dspam setup: postfix delivers to
dspam, which classifies and tags the mail, and then passes it to postfix
which uses sieve to put mail into the appropriate folders based on
dspam's classification. I also have the antispam plugin watching mail
being moved between folders and re-training dpsam accordingly.
If I now add some sieve filter rules which put

make install fails if configured --with-tcp-wrappers
Hello,
I tried building OpenSSH-2.9p1 on AIX 4.3.3(ML6) with gcc.
I included the --with-tcp-wrappers flag in configure.
Configure went just fine, make went just fine, but 'make install' failed
with the following error:
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program ./ssh-keygen because of the following
errors:

sshd hanging after multiple successive logons
Folks,
I use OpenSSH to poll a number of remote servers once every five minutes
and obtain a number of attributes. This is done using ssh as "sexec":
        ssh stats at remotehost getstats
This returns the output of the getstats program which is parsed, etc...
The problem is that after so many connections, the parent sshd hangs and
does not accept any more connections. I have

imap segfaults when using antispam plugin, and moving mail to an 'unsure' folder.
I put up a question on serverfault first, which has the details,
including a stack trace:
http://serverfault.com/questions/713687/dovecot-antispam-error-storing-mail
. Details also copied below.
Is this a known bug? If I built dovecot from source rather than using
the Ubuntu 14.04 packages, would I expect that to help? Are there any
configuration details that might be relevant? (dovecot -n

Stream fallbacks/spillovers/splashing
The fallback feature works perfectly for us. I don't see anything that
would be considered a bug.
We have 3 streams, /stream /mp3 /live
/stream always fallsback to /live
/live always fallsback to /mp3
/mp3 is always playing random mp3's from the collection (always on)
People listen to the stream using /stream
If a dj connects to /live then the people listening to /stream will hear

Help Memdisk + Pxelinux hangs
Hello,
I am a *nix newbie
I am trying to boot a DOS boot disk using PXE (to Ghost on windows
images).
We have an existing PXE server which successfully serves out PXElinux and
Fedora builds based on that but my floppy disk image with memdisk isn't
working
I have tried a few different floppy images which people have posted as
ones that work for them but I doubt the disk is the problem

IPFW disconnections and resets
Hi,
I am using IPFW on FreeBSD 4.11
I am facing two problems:
- SSH sessions timeout after a while
- When I run "/sbin/ipfw -q -f flush" in the rules script all connection
get reset (and I am thrown out of the box).
Is this standard functioning of ipfw or do I need to change any
configuration?
Thanks,
Siddhartha

Default permissions of /home/user..
Hello..
I've asked this question before without getting any further help really..
When a new user is added using "adduser" on 5.x (havn't really checked
if it's the same under 4.x or not), the default homedir permission is 755
(drwxr-xr-x) which to me, looks a bit insecure? It's of course pretty easy
to solve it by a simple chmod, but yet, isn't there anyway to

nut package with Riello UPS support
Thanks for you reply.
I have installed asciidoc with "pkg_add asciidoc"
And it returns something:
# asciidoc fgh

/usr/local/bin/asciidoc
Maybe there is any way to skip building man pages.
This is not the such main thing as a new devices support.
I also could built the driver that I need
# make riello_ser
but I don't
