I have a headless debian box that it will be powering.
Can someone tell me what packages I need to install?

Changing some values within a variable
Hi
I'm new to R and would like some help with a couple of problems. I
suspect the solutions are quite simple.
I have a data.frame (data) with 40 variables and 5238 observations
created from ~150 text files using read.table.
I would like to change some of the entries within two different columns.
Firstly, in the Group column I have groups A and B, I would like to
select all As and change

+ 726,379,0.0358,0.0501,786,502,0.0496,0.0837,
+ 892,591,0.0785,0.0795)
yy<-t(t(array(ww,c(2,10))))
barplot(yy[,2*1:5],las=1,space=c(.1,.5),beside=T)
produces a barplot of 5 pairs of bars that are of equal width

Maintaining referental Integrity
If I have two models that are in a one-to-one relationship in Ruby on
Rails,
and I wish to delete a record.
How do I make sure I will delete all the related data from both tables?
Is there a simple elegant Ruby way to do this?
Thank you for your time in advance,
Mitch

Tripplite SNMPwebcard communication lost and established randomly
I missed that snmp-ups set pollfreq to 30 by default. I'd hope that it would set deadtime to an appropriate value as well than, no? Is there a way to query what the settings are or what the defaults are?
I'm going to set POLLFREQ=30 and DEADTIME = 90 and see if that has any effect. I'll check for the logs. And if that doesn't get my anywhere I'll look at trying to simulate

Error installing package sna
Dear R-users,
These days, I have been struggling to install the package sna on my Ubuntu
8.04 laptop. My R version is currently R 2.7.2. And I had no trouble
installing any other packages (including network).
However when I run 'install.packages("sna")', compilation of C codes is ok,
but a syntax error is reported when building help pages and sna does not
want to install.

Multiple lattice plots on a page: aligning x-axes vertically
Dear R-help,
I am creating a two lattice plots (a densityplot() and xyplot()) that
have the same x-axes and then 'printing' them onto the same page, one
above the other (see end of email for an example to generate the graph).
With different labels on the y-axis for each plot the left spacing is
different, and the x-axes don't align vertically. Although I can
manually modify the

R CMD check: Error in .C
Function/file names are hypothetical. Say I have written myfunction.R,
which calls myfunction.c via .C("myfunction", ...).
I've compiled successfully myfunction.c via R CMD SHLIB myfunction.c
in the terminal. Then, in the R console:
dyn.load("myfunction.so")
source("myfunction.R")
test <- myfunction() # works fine
So everything is in order, myfunction works

[LLVMdev] bytecode documentation?
Is there any documentation of the llvm bytecode format? I looked

At this time, we do not have any documentation on the bytcode format. I
believe one LLVM user was working on such a document at one time, but if so,
it is not complete.

Matthew Dillon has ported the dvd+rw tools to FreeBSD.

command: growisofs -Z /dev/acd0c -rl ./testfile

That's where I first went for information. I've
successfully burned a CD-R using cdrecord, as opposed
to burncd, which I would normally use for ide burners.
I will check on the firmware.
Thanks,

Still a bug with NA in sd() or var()?
Dear R-users,
Running R 2.1.1 in WindowsXP, there seems to be a 'bug' in sd()
