Samba 4 Permission
Greetings, I was trying to setup Samba 4 and was successful to setup home folders for the users. One thing I left with is that users private folder will be accessed (can be read or write) by other users. How can I set the access right permissions so that no one can modify one's private folder/file. My home folder arguement in the /usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf is [homes] path =

GPO in Linux!!
Greetings, Is there any way to assign Group Policy in Samba 4 AD on linux clients? I was trying to implement a logon/logout script which will mount active directory user's home directory automatically but unsuccessful. Samba 4 integration with Linux clients using Likewise open
Greetings, I was trying to join linux clients to Samba 4 domain using Likewise-open tool configured with libpam-mount module so that user's home directory will be mounted upon their login. I followed the tutorial on http://www.likewise.com/community/index.php/forums/viewthread/825/ link but with no success. In fact the Domain controller the tutorial used was windows 2003 R2. My trail was on

Samba 4 Permission!!
Hi all, we have been working around with Samba 4 and we are successful with the setup, home directory, profiles and integration with likewise-open. But the content of users' home directory can be modified by other domain users. i.e userA can read/write on/delete any file/folder of userB. we try to set the following in the smb.conf file but with no luck. [homes] path =

Allow users to change active directory password!
Greetings, How can one allow AD users to change their Samba 4 active directory password on phpldapadmin? or if there are other tools? is there any work around. For Samba 3 I saw on forums to add " *ldap password sync = yes*" into smb.conf file. regards, Yared Berhanu Woldegiorgis ?kern torgvei 92 N-0589 Oslo, Norway tel. 004746263024 yaredbw at ifi.uio.no

PDC refuses some passwords
I have run into a problem recently which is driving me crazy. :) Our current setup is as follows: FreeBSD 2.2.8 server running Samba 2.0.5a The Samba server auths against an NT 4.0 Server (SP5). Certain NT machines in our network (NT 4.0 Server SP4), have problems accessing shares on the samba server. After a clean boot, they will be able to successfully access the shares for about 1/2 hour,

looking for tools adapted to alpha-stable varariables
Hello ! I'm already using "fBasics" to generate alpha-stable variables or compute their density or distribution function but do you know where I could find .R tools for computing the correlation and fit a regression between two alpha-stable variables ? Thanks in advance ! Kind regards, Pascal Grosbuis (France) [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Finding a 3D convex hull in R
Dear List Members, I'm presently carrying out morphological analysis of a data set of neuronal structures. These are essentially 3D binary trees. In due course I will be trying to use discriminant analysis or other methods to classify these neurons based on morphological variables such as total tree length, segment number etc. I would like to calculate a 3D convex hull for a set of X,Y,Z

Data frame from list of lists
This seems to be a simple problem, and I feel that there ought to be a simple answer, but I can't seem to find it. I have a function that returns a number of values as a heterogeneous list - always the same length and same names(), but a number of different data types, including character. I want to apply it to many inputs, resulting in a list of lists. I would like to turn this list of

The best way to protect against starvation?
Hello, If an ordinary user runs: -- snip -- cat > starv.c <<EOF main(){ char *point; while(1) { point = ( char * ) malloc(10000); }} EOF cc starv.c while true do ./a.out & done -- snip -- This will fast starv the operating system (FreeBSD 6.2). I have tried to limit the number of processes and the amount of memmory consumed (in login.conf). There is also a file /etc/malloc.conf

high dimensional convex hull
Does anyone know of a R package that will determine the convex hull of a high-dimensional dataset (say 4-10 dimensions). I know chull works for 2D data. I'm neophyte to R and convex hulls so please keep it simple. Many thanks Ben -- Ben Stapley. Biomolecular Sciences, UMIST, PO Box 88, Manchester M60 1QD. Tel 0161 200 5818 Fax 0161 236 0409

3D spatial statistics
Dear R Users, This is only partly an R question, but I would be very grateful if anyone could offer some suggestions for approaches or packages I could use in R. I have 11 sets of points in 3D (synapses in a region of a fly's brain for 11 different kinds of neurons as it happens); each set has between 80-250 points distributed in an irregularly shaped cloud. I would like to calculate a) a

pxelinux problem (plus a fix proposal)
Hello I'm using the ISC-dhcp 3.0pl1 + pxe patch (from http://savannah.gnu.org/download/pxe-toolkit/) and pxelinux as the loader program. It turns out that in my configuration pxelinux specific DHCP options are sent out by the server encapsulated within vendor extension option (option 43, RFC 1533). Currently pxelinux cannot parse this correctly (the full option 43 with it's contents is

predict.fda difficulties
Dear Dr Hornik / R help list, I am using the mda package and in particular the fda routine to classify a set of 162 neurons falling in to 11 neuronal cell types according to 17 morphological variables. I would like to use a cross-validation approach in which I split the data, train with one part amd then test the predictive accuracy of the discriminant functions with the remaining part. However

Dear R contributors, I recently dowloaded the R-1.3.1 on my SGi Origin 200 run by Irix6.5. In order to instal it, I launched the command shown below: env MAKE=gmake ./configure The output was as follow:: R is now configured for mips-sgi-irix6.5 Source directory: .
