loop function within a loop
Hi all, I'm working on a loop function for a large dataset which contains 1000 different groups. I would like to reconstruct the order of events within each group by using a loop function in R. (Currently the order of events are based on the ascending order of prev_event within the group) A demo data frame: event prev_event group 845 0 5360 926 153

I have looked into the samba's source directory: source/pam_smbpass/samples, their is a directory named "password-sync". How can I use this file to sync password from

Samba 4 + Squidguardian
AD from Samba or Microsoft is mainly a database for storing users (and associated stuffs). It comes also with stuffs (protocols) to connect and retrieve information. How the client uses these information is, as always, a choice from that specific client. Your AD client is your Squid/Squidguard(ian) server. Its job as AD client is to get some users information from AD to build system users. I

pam_smbpass.so passdb.tdb support
Hi, Recently I have installed samba 3.4.8 on my device. Since then ftp (vsftp, proftpd) which is taking users from samba database with pam_smbpass.so is not working. After enabling detailed log I have noticed it is looking for the passwords in smbpasswd (/etc/samba/private) which is of zero size . I think all users passwd are located in passwd.tdb.I could fix this by giving "passdb

pam_smbpass and ldap
On a Debian 3.0 system with user accounts stored in openldap, I have unix and windows auth working just fine through ldap. smbpasswd can change the samba passwd attributes, and passwd can change the unix password attributes. I'm trying to get pam_smbpass to work to keep everything in sync, but it only says "Failed to find entry for user test0." which indicates to me that its

I modified system-auth which is included in sshd: #### /etc/pam.d/system-auth auth requisite pam_unix.so

NTLM authentication with squid using smbpasswd/tdbsam?
Hi, I want to set up squid (2.6.9) with Samba (3.0.24) using NTLM authentication. I don't want to authenticate against an AD server; I just want to authenticate against a smbpasswd backend without sending the password over the network in the clear. The squid server is on the same box a the Samba server providing file/print services to XP workstations. The primary way of using NTLM seems

pam_smbpass.so on AIX
Yet another odd one... I've got it set up now so that swat uses pam_smbpass.so, and once a user logs into swat at least once, it'll update their password in the passdb backend configured for Samba. But, I also need to ensure that when a user changes their password via passwd, it also gets updated. I added the following in /etc/security/login.cfg: usw: auth_type = PAM_AUTH and
