why does [A-Z] include 'T' in an Estonian locale?
Inspired by this old Stack Overflow question
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19765610/when-does-locale-affect-rs-regular-expressions
I was wondering why this is TRUE:
Sys.setlocale("LC_ALL", "et_EE")
grepl("[A-Z]", "T")
TRE's documentation at
<https://laurikari.net/tre/documentation/regex-syntax/> says that a

Re: Call for translators
Looking at the page I see someone allready doing the Dutch translations, however there are a lot of errors in the translation when it comes to using past, future and present in the 8 string tables i looked at so far.
Unfortunatly theres no information on how to contact the person in question to notify him about the mistakes.
How would you advise to get this improved?

faster server
Hi All,
I am running a Rails application on a VPS using Lighttpd/Debian-Stable
and it seems something is slowing the whole thing down.
If I watch the production log - it seems the website is rendered quite
fast but when I reach the website using my favorite browser (or even my
less favorite..) it is loading too slow.
Thanks,
D.

batch diffs
I needed a tool to produce diffs of binary volumes, and to apply them as
patches accordingly. So I tried the 'batch mode' that was added to rsync,
but it invariably segfaulted on reading the batches...

foo.rsync_argvs: line 1: 8971 Segmentation fault rsync -a -v --stats --read-batch=foo ${1:-FOO}

Rd.sty not found
I'm trying to build and check a new package. But keep getting the
warning:
* checking PDF version of manual ... WARNING
LaTeX errors when creating PDF version.
This typically indicates Rd problems.
When I go into the package.Rcheck directory,
package-manual.pdf is created.
however if I do a pdflatex on package.tex I get the following:
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.4-1.40.13

Metadata in b4 Vorbis files?
Help!
I'm researching Vorbis as a solution for talk
programming archiving (obviously more affordable for
the budget conscious public radio stations than Real).
An important feature will be the abillity to search
the metadata of the audio files. Is this
functionality already available with b4?
I've also research an open standard for meta data

there are fontencoding problem in Sweave
I want write article by russian language using Sweave. For cyrillic text
LaTeX use T2A encoding
\usepackage[T2A]{fontenc}
But in Sweave.sty we find:
\RequirePackage[T1]{fontenc}
It is source of critical problem.
For example Rnw file
$ cat estimation.Rnw
\documentclass[A4paper]{article}
\usepackage[T2A]{fontenc}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage[russian,english]{babel}

Sweave files generating miktex errors
Dear useRs--
I have been using Sweave with miktex for years, but on a new install on
Windows XP, miktex seems to be hung up on single quotes. See example below.
Digging through stackexchange, I found using \usepackage[noae]{Sweave} in
the tex file solved the problem. My questions are:
--Why would this happen? I have the ae package installed.
