Windows 7 problem accessing domain member samba serve r on different subnet
We recently ran into a similar issue. If you have any microsoft "Live" components installed on your 7 box, samba servers must be contacted by numeric IP address rather than netbios (or even IP mnemonic) name. http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/8303-cant-connect-samba-share-via -name-ip-works.html ---------------------------------------------- Tony Hoover, Network

WINS Not Updating When Client Moves Subnet
Hi This is my first post so please be gentle! Many thanks to the developers of Samba, I?ve used it for years and it is a great system! I?m running Samba Version 3.6.6 on a raspberry Pi for testing purposes before using in anger and a Linux PC! I only need the functionality of WINS for my application for XP and Win7 clients, my PCs won?t be on a domain. I use a separate DHCP server that dishes

What if two tinc daemons received the same Subnet but with different weight?
Hi, Guus I referre to the two separate tinc process/network(received same subnet), not Sunbet selection within one tinc process/network. My understanding is if different tinc process comes with exact subnet, as they are not related with each other(they have no idea regarding weights with each other), I guess the routing depends on the host's main routing table, for specific route it depends

Subnet-isolated member server
Hi all, I'm gearing up to merge our two domains into one, across subnets. I have subnet browsing working now. I have a couple questions: 1. Right now, the second PDC (which will become the member server) shares a printer via its own CUPS server. Will my users see a performance degradation if that printer starts being shared by the other PDC across the subnet? Would it be OK for this

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Hai Thomas.   Its not that hard to get a good 4.4.3. here is how to do this. And is really easy, as long you dont run into compile problems. I’ve tested below in debian jessie, and should work on ubuntu also.   The short/simple rebuild a samba version from debian jessie to ubuntu.   ## 1 ## Get the packages needed for a rebuild. sudo apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends

IPv6 subnet routing
I've been trying out IPv6 networking with tinc and noticed that it will not route smaller segments than /48 If I try to run ip -6 route add aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd::/64 dev tun0 I get network unreachable However if I run ip -6 route add aaaa:bbbb:cccc::/48 dev tun0 it works fine Is this is a limitation in tinc or the kernel network stack itself? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Hello everybody, I hope someone can help me with this or point me into the right direction since I am not being able to solve it since weeks. Since last year I was running Samba 4.1.6 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS without issues as a active directory domain controller as well as member servers. Trouble started with the upgrade to Samba 4.3.8 (now 4.3.9). The ADS controller and most member servers are

You have a typo in your routes: fd80:2015:2105:adcd::/6 abcd vs. adcd On 21 May 2015, at 19:35, Martin <martinmoen at gmail.com<mailto:martinmoen at gmail.com>> wrote: I have 2 nodes nodeA and nodeB I'm using tinc 1.1pre11 -- nodeA(fd80:2015:2105:abcd::1) : $ ip -6 route fd80:2015:2105:abcd::1 dev tun0 proto kernel metric 256 fd80:2015:2105:adcd::/64 dev tun0 metric 1024

Samba 4 dns-resolv-prob with different subnets [SOLVED]
Hello all, The prob is solved. The dns-answer only seemed to come from the asked nameserver. Between the two endpoints of the vpn the gateways have a transparent dns-proxy which forwarded my dns-request not the wanted dns-server but sent not-found-answers pretending to be the intended ns. Not easy to find such a pitfall :( Thanks again, -Peter -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Peter
