Build error due to Waf task dependency cycle in run_after
Dear all,
trying to build some Heimdal-based packages for Samba AD DC under
openSUSE I am facing some difficulties with the build system:
During the installation which is triggered by "make install" waf complains
about some task dependency cycle after leaving folder bin/default.
Full log including config options can be seen unter https://build.opensuse.org/

share write access
Hi,
I am testing share parameters, and have the following share definition:
## Section - [shareA]
[shareA]
path = /tmp/shareA
writelist = user1
and do not understand why user1 cannot write files in the share when
connected as user1. Unix permissions for the share files are rw for
everyone, and the share directory has wide-open permissions. Samba version
is 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE.

build problem with 4.10.0
Hi
I want to build samba-4.10.0 for SUSE openLeap 15.1. Config and make
works fine but make install sucks:
./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc
--libdir=/usr/lib64 --libexecdir=/usr/lib64
--with-cachedir=/var/lib/samba --with-lockdir=/var/lib/samba/lock
--with-logfilebase=/var/log/samba --with-modulesdir=/usr/lib64/samba
--disable-rpath --disable-rpath-install

I have the following smb.conf file. Note the "guestaccount" parameter, and
the guest parameters in shareA, shareB, and shareC.

Files and directories created by WinXP client are read-only
My WinXP client creates files and directories that are writable only by the
file owner, not by the group to which that user belongs. There must be
something all-too-obvious that I am overlooking here, but I'll be darned if I
can find it. The files and directories can be read just fine, but I can't
write to them.
Clues? Help? Commiseration?
Thanks,
Jay

Join Domain Problem?
List,
I'm having trouble accessing shares, and I'm getting conflicting
indications on whether I've successfully joined the domain with my PC
and Samba server (which may bear on the share problem). I really
could use some help; I've not been able to recognize anything in the
docs or via Google that helps. I'm running SUSE 9.3 and Samba
3.0.21a, and I'm trying to

Debian Buster, bind_dlz, and apparmor
Last week, Debian testing (Buster) added apparmor to the list of
dependencies for its latest kernel release, apparently because systemd
needs it. Recently, I noticed my first casualty - bind9 - due to
apparmor failures with bind_dlz.
Here is the initial journalctl results:

question "add user script"
Hello all,
I have never had the need to use the "add user script" functionality but now I do. However, it does not seem to be working. My
smb.conf entry is like so:
add user script = /remote/configure_scripts/addusers.sh
where addusers.sh is a bash script that reads in a text file of usernames, groups, and passwords and adds the users to /etc/passwd,
/etc/group/ and

SWAT Help Hyperlinks Not Working
All SWAT local help hyperlinks produce a 404 File not found error. I'm
using a new install of SuSE 10.0; SuSE 9.x did not have this problem. I
have installed samba-doc.
The page source of the Welcome to SWAT! page contains the following

Enforcing Quotas?
I think I inadvertently hijacked another thread when I posted this a
couple days ago, so I''ll try again. :)
For those who have developed apps that have different levels of account
quotas in regards to total file upload space, how are you managing it?
Are you keeping track of the total uploaded bytes in an Account model or
are you using OS quota mechanisms?
Any suggestions would be

Acts as nested - Enforcing a Max Level
Hello, I''m currently using the gem ''nested_set'' for comment threading.
What I want to do is prevent the comment level from going more than 2 levels
deep. What I tired doing was something like this:
class Comment < ActiveRecord::Base
....
before_save :ensure_max_nestedset_level

[PATCH] Allow selinux=? and enforcing=? kernel flags to be controlled
This is a pretty uncontroversial patch which just allows the
selinux=? and enforcing=? flags on the kernel command line
to be controlled.
Currently libguestfs unconditionally passes selinux=0. By default
this patch does the same thing, but allows programs to enable SELinux
in the kernel and/or set it to enforcing mode.

[common PATCH 3/3] mlcustomize: do not relabel if not enforcing (RHBZ#1828952)
Do not attempt to relabel a guest in case its SELinux enforcing mode is
not "enforcing", as it is either pointless, or it may fail because of an
invalid policy configured.
