Interpreting summary of lme
Dear mixed-modelers,
I have built a mixed model and I'm having serious trouble with interpreting
the output.
I want to test differences in the coefficient of variation (CV) of light
across 3 tree crown exposures (Depth). I have measured direct and diffuse
radiation (RF) and I want to test for differences for each kind of radiation
between crown exposures, as well as differences between

install 2.2.0 ssl troubles
Hello!
Here are my specs.
Slackware 7.1
OpenSSL 0.9.6a
Samba 2.2.0 downloaded today
It claims that it cant find ssl.h
Here is my configure line:
./configure --prefix=/usr --with-ssl
--with-sslinc=/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl --with-smbmount
--enable-debug
I verified that ssl.h is in /usr/local/ssl/include/openssl
Any ideas?
Thank you

upgrade samba
How does one move from a rpm based samba to tar.gz? In other words how
do I upgrade from samba-2.2.1a-4 to samba-2.2.6.tar.gz.
Do I remove samba : rpm -e samba?
And what do I do with the other samba rpm packages:
samba-client-2.2.1a-4 & samba-common-2.2.1a-4? Are they included with
the tar package?
Using RH7.2.

New T100P Pri install suggestions?
In the next week or so, we'll be turning up a new T1 Pri from Cox Cable
in Omaha using a T100P (installed but not yet configured). While discussing
the interface parameters with a very knowledgable Cox engineer, we decided
on some of the basics including b8zs, esf, dchan=24, callerid, 5 digits
of called number forwarded to *, and switchtype=national (NI2). They
indicated their CO switch is a

Samba and SSHFS
Hello, all.
I had a problem using Samba as a relay for SSHFS.
I googled for the answer, but I couldn't find it. Then I found it on
my own, so I figured that google could use this tip. ;)
The problem seems to be with SSHFS. I've had trouble getting the
mounts to be visible/accessible to normal user accounts.
My solution? Run SSHFS as root, and create a Samba share with the
force user

FWIW - share name length limit
I've just discovered a limitation in share name lengths. It may be in the
docs, but I didn't see it and it's not mentioned in the Frisch book on NT
admin.
I tried in my smb.conf to create a share called "public_ftp_files". The
share was created OK, but when I looked for it with the NT4 (sp4) Network
Neighborhood, the name had been truncated to "public_ftp_fi" (13

Forcing DOMAIN GROUP from Windows 2000 AD for RHEL3 shared directory
I have a RHEL box running samba for a file sharing server using the windows
2000 active directory accounts. Everything works fine with the security and
everyone has read-write access to the files, but I am forcing the group
settings, but it seems that the users settings are being pushed as well.
Each user in the group should have rights to delete the files if need be,
but they can not. The only
