File names with unusual characters and linux smbfs clients
I had a weird problem today that brought to light an issue that I didn't realize was happening on my samba servers. I had a windows user save a file to a samba share with an "em dash" character in the file name (em dash is unicode U+2014). The same user tried to find the file on another computer, a linux client using smbfs to access the same share and browsing with Nautilus, was

a vector unusually getting NA values.....
dear members, I have a function by name "ygcudf" and a list of stock names by name"snl" ( of class "list"). ygcudf acts on snl and returns a list of the most favourable stocks. I don't wish to divulge the code of the function, for genuine reasons, but the algorithm is as follows: { k <- 1; i <- 1

[PATCH] (with benchmarks) binary patching of paravirt_ops call sites
Hi all, Sorry for the delay. This implements binary patching of call sites for interrupt-related paravirt ops, since no-doubt Andi wasn't the only one to believe this approach is slow. The benchmarks were done on a UP 3GHz Pentium 4 with 512MB of RAM. 2.6.17-rc4 vs 2.6.17-rc4 with CONFIG_PARAVIRT=y vs 2.6.17-rc4 CONFIG_PARAVIRT=y with patch. Summary: with binary patching, the difference

[LLVMdev] Re: a linking problem of LLVM
Hi Jing, I am cc ing to LLVMdev (LLVM developer's mailing list). You get more accurate and faster responses that way. <snip> > Actually LLVM is well documented and the coding style is very friendly. We have rarely had problems since we started one month ago. Unfortunately, here comes something I am not very clear, but it is critical to our evaluation. I appreciate if you could

Though, it adds an unnecessary 46MB to my docker image. > It should be indeed in llvm-9-dev instead. This would hide the problem, right. I am not sure it's is a good solution. Where can we review the build process for the apt packages? On 02/12/2019 15:21, Sylvestre Ledru wrote:

[LLVMdev] POSIX thread library support
Hello all, I caught a problem related to pthread library. I built llvm and llvm-gcc then compiling a multithreaded benchmark written in POSIX thread library. The command "llvm-gcc -o bench bench.c -lpthread" ran well while "llvm-gcc -c bench; llvm-ld -o bench bench.o -lpthread" crashed. It told that "llvm-ld: error: Cannot find library 'pthread'". I could

Freenas domU network performance issue
Hi guys, I''m running a freenas domU (FreeBSD 8.3 based, ZFS v28, 2 vcpus mapped to the same HT capable core) to serve storage for all purpose including other domUs running on the same host. I did some study to understand how well it works and the result is kind of confusing. In summary, the network performance between domains on the same host is worse than expected. And NFS service to

Help with NLME
I am relatively new to NLME, so the solution to the problem I describe here may be obvious. But I've spent several days trying to get the right syntax to formulate random effects for this model appropriately. The full model is: nlme(a ~ a.mitscherlich(a.qe, a.max, lcp, light), data=light, fixed = a.max + a.qe + lcp ~ trt, random = a.max + a.qe + lcp ~ 1 | bench/line,

libcxx build error.
Hi, I am trying to build llvm 3.4.2 on Centos 6.6. I am getting this below build error , while building the libcxx. I followed the build procedure based of http://clang.llvm.org/get_started.html. I cannot move to a higher version, Since we need to develop on CentOS 6.6 and LLVM 3.4.2 ,is the last version that supports gcc 3.4.2. Starting from LLVM 3.5.0, there has been a huge jump to gcc 4.7.0.

[LLVMdev] Botan and Android
Hi Jack, I'm almost there with Android..... I've actually got the static and dynamic libraries built. I'm choking on the test suite. Do you want to take a shot at working around Android and [embedded, lame] STLport? I would try removing the call to rend() in std::map<_Key, _Tp, _Compare, _Alloc>::rend(). But I really should not modify program code. Fiddling with a Makefile is
