Samba compile docs
I am interested in compiling Samba 4 and trying the advanced features. I followed the instructions on samba.org to build and compile, though I get the error: failed program.confdefs.h. I have run into this error before, and looking over config log, I see that the build does not see many of the dependencies. Can I modify the build to point to the required files, or at least trace the source

Samba 3.6 directory ACLs
I have ACLs working for files with the following set in my share definitions: inherit permissions = yes inherit acls=yes map acl inherit=yes vfs_objects = acl_tdb While testing my Samba configuration, I found that permissions are being set to 'special' for directories being copied from Windows instead of the ACL being fully populated. Does Samba 3.6 fully implement ACLS, or are

Rebuilding and re-checking of downstream dependencies on CRAN Mac build machines
Winston, the Mac CRAN build builds a package only if either is true: 1) the package has not passed checks 2) there is a new version of the package since last successful build+check The old build machine doesn't have the capacity to do full re-builds (it would take over 24h - currently the nightly build of packages takes 16-22 hours), but we're currently building a new setup for R 4.0.0

Perhaps a Linux user can reproduce it and fix it. Here's what I see:

Samba build errors (Derek Lewis)
Jorell, I installed the packages from your list and attempted to build with your configuration. I still get errors during build referring to swrap_close or nwrap_getgrnam. Also I did not use. /autogen.she, just config and make. Derek Derek

Missing dependencies in pkg installs
I have a Ubuntu server with an R installation that has 384 packages installed. We are trying to replicate the system on a Red Hat Enterprise server. I downloaded the list of packages from the Ubuntu machine and read it into an R session on the new machine. Then I ran install.packages(listofpackages). Now I have 352 packages on the new machine but several very common packages (like much of the

[LLVMdev] ATS workaround for Clang 3.5
The ATS community is having trouble with clang. They had been using an older version of clang and upgraded because newer versions give higher quality warning messages. Unfortunately, with 3.5, moving from -O1 to -O2 triggers a crash on startup in the clang-generated executable. I had suggested building with -fsanitize=undefined and -fsanitize=address to weed out any dependencies undefined
