gaps and the DNS-activity I can see in onther places seems ok. There
is almost no network traffic and no CPU activity during the gaps so
it looks like some kind of timeout issue.
It may be of interest that, for the moment, IPv6 is beeing used.
Sometimes we also have quite a long delay if we click on the "View
computers and devices" link in the "Network and Sharing Center".

Win7/W2K8 R2 sp1
After upgrading Win7 and W2K8 R2 clients to service pack 1 it is no longer possible to log in to domain(before the upgrade the clients can log in into domain). Clean installation of Win7/W2K8 R2 with integrated sp1 has the same effect. Our domain PDC is running on samba 3.3.7. I'm curious if anyone else has seen this already.
Thank you

Samba4 AC DC Ready! But "W2k8 R2" doesn't join...
Hey guys!
This is my first message to this list... I'm must say that I'm very
impressed with Samba4! It is an amazing project! Nice job!!
Last time I used Samba was back in 1998~2000... But, I got a new job that
is forcing me to remove 3 Windows Servers with AD, by Samba4.
So, I just deployed Samba4 on top of Ubuntu 14.04, it have Bind9, IPv6, a

3.6/SMB2.0 and NT6.0 (Vista/W2K8 not-R2) question
Hello Samba Team,
Have a W2K8 not-R2 (NT6.0) server that compiles code
served from a CentOS 5.6 server running Samba 3.5.5
over an Infiniband link.
Works nice but an 'imake' step that grinds through
every source file several times takes ten-to-twenty
times longer than when it runs locally on the Linux side.
It's apparent that the entire source tree is cached
in memory by Linux, but

smb_auth problem
Hi samba community.
I'm having a problem with the smb_auth authentication method. Everything
looks like normal, but everytime I try to use smb_auth it returns ERR.
I will show here some commands output to secure that all configuration is
correct, and if anyone can help me to investigate what's happend I'll
thanks.
I'm using: Debian lenny, updated.

[LLVMdev] Problem with missing support for non-zero contant initializers.
Hi all.
I'm working on a LLVM based compiler for the D programming language by
Walter Bright.
D allows static arrays up to 16MB in size. I'm initializing global
static arrays with a constant initializer. But D requires that (per
default) static arrays are initialized with the default initializer
for the element type. For float this happens to be NaN, so I cannot

Significant digits for checking values of variable?
All,
I'm witnessing some strange behavior when checking the values of one of my
variables. My guess is that it has something to do with the number of
significant digits being represented, but perhaps not as my variable was
created from other variables that only had one decimal place. See below.
I'm sure this is something basic, any suggestions much appreciated.
Cheers,
David

Summary statistics across factor levels
R users,
I intention is to calculate some summary statistics across factor
levels. I know that in Hmisc package there is a summary function which
produces neat summary statistics when using "cross" option. I would
like to produce similar output with N and Missing columns but produce
a data.frame. Is there any built-in function for that?

Ldap and "domain admin group"
Hi,
I have tried to add a user (not a group) to "domain admin group" in
smb.conf with no success. If i use the usermanager an check the
Administrators group on the local machine there are two members,
Administrator and DOMAIN\unix_group.2147483404 and the user does NOT
get administrative priviliges on the local machine. If I add the
user to the Administrators group on the local machine

Can't connect to printers from Win 2008 and Win 7
Hello!
We have problems connecting to printers (spoolss) from Windows Server
2008 (64-bit, domain member) and Windows 7 (64-bit, NOT domain member).
When trying to connect to the printers we get an error message saying
"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed
(error 0x0000000d)". Connecting as a "standard" user or a domain

samba to act as bdc for w2k8 AD?
Hello everybody,
could samba (version 3 or 4) act as a "bdc" for an w2k8/r2 AD?
There's one external office with a few users only, and there will be a
samba-based system for file-storage - so if that system could also do
the user-authentication for all users there it'd be nearly perfect ...
Have a nice weekend!

When i do the same from Windows XP or from our old w2k3 (x64) server
farm everything works excellent.
Does anybody know a workaround. I installed

dcpromo on W2k8 R2 server with existing Samba AD domin fails to complete
I’m attempting to stand up a Windows 2008 R2 server as a domain controller to integrate with an existing Samba AD environment with 6x Samba AD servers (4.10.1) and multiple sites. This is the first Windows DC.
I have a couple other Win2012 servers that are already domain joined, and ~ 300 Win 10 desktop/laptop hosts
I’ve followed the guide on the wiki:

W2K8 online migration delays guest execution 45-50 seconds
I''m experiencing a problem with XenEnterprise migration for a Windows
2008 server VM where a large % of the time I notice a 45-50 sec delay
after the VM has been migrated to the other side. I''m wondering if
anyone in this list is using XenEnterprise and has tried W2k8
migrations.
Thanks in advance.

Add samba AD DC to a Windows 2008 R2 domain
Hello all,
I could use some advice on setting up this project.
I have a small W2k8-R2 domain with a single DC. It runs great in spite of
its age.
However, the redundancy of the system is, of course, low.
I was thinking of adding a 2nd DC. I can either get a cheap W2k8 license
from amazon, or set up a samba DC. Running a "samba only" domain is not an
option. Not my call....

NT Domain logons and clear text passwords
Hi,
I'm very excited about the NT domain logon stuff but I have a question.
Is/will it be possible to use the "normal" Unix password validation for
user logons (we don't want to have two password files)? Smbpasswd is
probably good for machines but we would like to continue using clear text
password and Unix validation for users in the future.
Regards,
