High load while printing a Word document
Hello!
Sometimes I have problems printing a particular Word document on a
Windows XP machine. The printing takes very long and the server load/CPU
are very high.
I set the log level = 3 printdrivers:10 and got an
STATUS_BUFFER_OVERFLOW error (see logfile-extract below)
On the client side I use MS Office 2003 SP3 and Windows XP SP3.
The postscript-driver of Lexmark X464 is configured as

Strange MS-Access Problems with Samba 2.2.1a
Hello,
something strange happens sometimes with a MS access Database when trying to
open it on a samba share. The database is destroyed and I think the problem
is Samba cause in the database file you can find some log entries from
samba. I got some tips from a german ng but I think it is better to publish
it here cause might be a bug in samba 2.2.1a.
I use samba 2.2.1a on Suse 7.3 and MS Office

Hi all!
I'm syncing a windows share from a NetApp filer to a local partition on
my RHEL3 box. I observe the following behavior:
- rsync syncs more than neccessary, files that haven't changed since years
- files that have been synced, aged for an hour or two on the netapp host
Environment:

Access Problems
Hello,
I have a very strange access problem, and do not know how to get rid of it.
We have a server with a Raid 1 installed running under SuSE 9.2 (Samba
3.0.9-2.3).
There are some shares where several users need access to. The permissions of
the directories are
rwxrwxr-x user1 users
when files on that shares are accessed by a Windows Client a strange behaviour
occurs.

Ogg in my car
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned on the list or I'll kind of look
stupid...
The Ogg Developers may already be aware of this, but I thought this would
be news for most of the people who subscribe to this list. I saw this on
NewsForge where they referenced an article from MP3Newswire.net The article
is about Kenwood announcing a digital music system for cars that supports

false local printer settings
Hi,
I installed a printer via cups, did the driver installation as described
in Procedure 5.17. Steps to Install Printer Drivers on the Samba Servers
(Samba-3 by Example). I changed the paper-size in the printer-settings
and the device-settings from letter to A4.
After the installation of the printer on a workstation, I got the wrong
local printer settings (again letter instead of A4).

Received: header showing 127.0.0.1 after switch to dovecot LDA?
Hi all,
I'm guessing this is correct behavior, but wanted to make sure...
I noticed that for locally delivered messages (between 2 local users
inside our domain, so they never leave the server), the first Received:
header line content changed after I switched to the dovecot LDA.
Before, using postfix/virtual for delivery, the header looked like this:

Overriding of .dll libraries
As far as I know, some application can be made working in Wine if some .dll libraries are replaced by the native ones (from windows distribution).
Could somebody help me?
I do not know, how to find which libraries have to be overriden for this or that particular application.
What should I do to find it out?
Is there any HowTo in internet that explains how to do it step-by-step?
