Only administrator works in ldapsam:editposix domain
I tried setting up a samba/ldap domain using the ldapsam:editposix feature, using the brief instructions at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix. Everything goes rather smoothly, and I can add XP machines and log into them as the Administrative user. I added a user to the server, then to samba/ldap using smbpasswd -a newuser ldapsearch -x shows the user & encrypted password, so

net sam provision
Hello everybody, I am currently trying to set up a Samba PDC with OpenLDAP. I am trying to do this with Ldapsam_Editposix (got it from http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix ) instead of the smbldap-tools. I followed the instructions and everything is set fine. I imported the base structure from the given ldif (edited it to my domain), but when I try to let the command "net sam

Ldapsam:editposix: How to continue once it's setup
Hi to everybody, I managed to setup ldapsam:editposix for Debian Lenny as described here: http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix and had the impression that in order to add a Samba Unix client, it would be best to continue here: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/unixclients.html However, in the ldapsam:editposix tutorial, the Administrator is mentioned instead of root

Hi, I am more or less following this tutorial Ldapsam Editposix = http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix but can't quite get my domain to work. I think the issue is with the idmap part of the smb.conf but can't quite figure out what's wrong with it or what the correct format should be. idmap LDAP branch never populates with Samba 3.4.1 - how do I debug ?
I've followed the instructions at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix which concerns how to setup idmap correctly with Samba > 3.0.25. I have a trusted domain which has been successfully established. However, no SID entries populate beneath ou=idmap and any logon to the trusted domain will result in: netr_LogonSamLogon: user SANDBOX\Administrator has user sid

asterisk and bigmem kernel
Hi all, I installed asterisk 1.4.22 on a Dell poweredge 2950, with 4GB RAM. I used debian, but the default kernel doesn't recognize the 4GB, just 3, so I installled the linux-image-2.6.18-6-686-bigmem kernel, that do recognize the whole 4GB. Asterisk seems to be installed correctly, but I had two issues: (1) I had an error with zaptel. Asterisk didn't start with zaptel modules loaded. I

Plugin hooks in login process
Hi all; I've setup dovecot (2.1.10) in a cluster configuration. We have two servers acting as frontend which authenticates users and proxy them to other two servers which handles the "real" work. Users credentials are on a mysql cluster; we have one master, in which read/write queries are processed, and many replicated slave, which process read-only queries. The frontend
