Problems authenticating Ubuntu 8.04 client (gdm) against Samba (Ubuntu 8.04) domain server
Hello, Does anyone have a working pam configuration that allows gdm logins? My current config works with ssh and bash logins. I'd like gdm to work with usernames like DOMAIN\\USERNAME. MORE DETAIL: ------------------- I'm trying to get a Linux client (Ubuntu 8.04) to authenticate against a Samba domain controller (also Ubuntu8.04). WindowsXP clients work fine with the samba

I'm trying to trobuleshoot my previuos problem from the basics. I've a box setup with Ubuntu, samba and ldap. I have a lot of problems with user authentications. HTB / ingress diffrence
Hi I have outgoing speed 128kbit and 5 users. So I want to cat outgoing traffic to 50kbit per user. The best Idea is make HTB queue 10kbit ceil 50kbit but one user (the Donkey one :) ) who using P2P take all the outgoing band. When I make HTB is trafic was very low Donkey doesn''t get any data or take only a little, outgoing traffic was about 1-2K, but In HTB trafic I have full outgoing

Getting "Specified network name is no longer available" on large (>100MB) files...
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I'm using a Linux box in my house as a NAS, so that I can make backups, move large files, etc. The problem is that, whenever I try to move/copy a file larger than 100MB or so off of the linux machine to my Windows machine, I get "Specified network name is no longer available" on the Windows machine and the transfer aborts.

Andreas, A few thoughts regarding your system 1) If it's a home system and you're specifically concerned about mitigating CVE 2017-7494, (a) verify that your share isn't mounted 'noexec' - if it's mounted this way then you're safe (b) if not (a), then add the [global] parameter "nt pipe support = no". This will break functionality that relies on support for

Opinion on different web server setups?
This is not directly a Rails question but you lot seem the best to ask... I have a strong feeling we will be developing future apps in Rails (Ruby fans are slowly starting to outnumber cynics in my office) so I want a web server plan that will be appropriate for that. We have just bought two new web servers I want to turn into a load-balanced, redundant pair. As well as any Rails

sshd and pam_env both read /etc/environment, but assume different syntax
Morning, and that's the next bugreport that I have to forward you, because the fix should be applied in the upstream sources. is ipp2p working (kazaa)
i am using ipp2p module (v 0.6) from http://rnvs.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/ipp2p/index_en.html I have tried it on kazaa and e-donkey connections. Unfortunately, I am interesting in limiting kazaa traffic, which this modules seems not to work right with it. (Kazza traffic is not identified most of the cases....). Has anyone tried this kazza bandwidth control???

domain member, how to change passwords?
Hello list, I'll give a detailed explanation below. The quick question is: How can I configure a workstation (running Linux) so it can change user password on the PDC? Details: At work we are migrating from Windows to Linux and we decided to have user's /home exported with NFS4 (no kerberos yet). User database is in LDAP. Some users have shared directories. Since NFS doesn't allow
