samba & libiconv
Hi,
I am building a NAS that only has a couple of SATA disks attached (no USB, no
CD/DVD, no NFS, no ...). Since the available space for the rootfs is limited
(only 8 MB), I'd like to omit libiconv because this library takes 875 Kbytes.
The filesystem on the disks will be ext3. UClibc is built with WCHAR support.
Can I build Samba 3.3.8 without libiconv and still have unicode filenames

samba4 size
Hi,
I've built samba 4 from the git repository, but... the resulting (stripped)
binaries take 504 MB disk space! Is that what it is or did I do something
wrong?

: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot.so.0 (arm cross compile)
Hi.
I've made a new attempt at build Dovecot. The build and then install
processes appeared to work find. Then when I try to run Dovecot it
reports the error:

libraries: libdovecot.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file

Hrm... ok.
It'll be probably faster for you to try a test build instead of me setting
up buildroot...

Building an LLVM/CLANG cross compiler for legacy GCC toolchain
Hello,
I need to build a CLANG cross compiler for mips-linux-uclibc. To be
completely compatible with the target system, I would like it to use linux
2.6.32.54 headers, binutils 2.25, gcc 4.1.2, and uClibc 0.9.30.1 for the
gcc toolchain. I have been able to build the GCC toolchain a variety of
different ways, but none of these builds can be "dropped in" via clang as a
replacement for

Hi,
To to build an RPM from the nut 2.0.3 source I've corrected the old
nut.spec.in file. Please find a copy of the slightly updated spec file
attached. The changes are documented at the bottom of the spec file.

error building php spec file
Hi.
Which CentOS version you using?
If it is CentOS 6 then instead of building it from source, you can use IUS
repo which has latest php packages.
Below is the link for the packages in IUS repo for CentOS 6.

Forcing Windows Kerberos tickets be used for authentication to a samba share
Hello,
I used
net ads join createcomputer="OU=Computer,OU=ErlF,OU=UNIX,OU=_CentralServices,DC=ww004,DC=glanzmann,DC=net" -W WW004 -U adglth0a
to join a samba machine to an active directory. Now I would like to
configure in a way that windows clients use a cifs/hostname kerberos
ticket to authenticate to the machine. I tried the following settings:
[global]
workgroup = WW004
