iSCSI and LVM
Hi Everyone, I am going to get a storage server which will be connected to my Xen hosts via iSCSI/Ethernet. I wish to use LVM for the DomU disks. The storage server will have a RAID10 array, and 2 Xen hosts will connect to this (Each will have a 50% share of the RAID10 array, space wise). What is the best way to go about this? Should I: a) Split the RAID10 array into 2 partition on the

Can SAMBA work with 2008 R2 Read Only Domain controller
Hello, ? We are planing to utilize Microsoft 2008 R2 Read Only Domain controller, and deploy RODC's in branches. ? If I would like to have SAMBA servers in those branches, will I be able to add them to the domain (using "net ads join") and work with them, when using the RODC's as domain controllers configured in my smb.conf & krb5.conf? ? I have looked around and did not

Google AdSense
Hi all, I'm thinking of possibly trying out Google AdSense on the syslinux web pages. Before doing so, however, I'd like to hear: a) Would anyone object to such a move? (And if so, why?) b) Does anyone have good/bad experiences with AdSense that they would like to share? -hpa

SOAP client in Ruby/Rails
Hi all. I have a need to build a SOAP client using Ruby and Rails. I''m accessing a document/literal style SOAP service. I''ve been poring over documentation (well, there really doesn''t seem to be any, so that''s a little misleading), blog posts, and outdated tutorials all day, and I still don''t really have anywhere to begin. Every tutorial seems to have a

Browing in Samba4 AD domain
Hello guys, Rowland :) I recently had the opportunity to configure a Samba 3.x server which acts as a WIN server. For testing purposes only, I've configured a group of 4 Windows machines to use my Samba 3.x host as WINS server but unfortunately those 4 hosts were not able to see each other in the windows browsing list. I might guess WINS is only providing NetBIOS name resolution but no

Browing in Samba4 AD domain
Thanks for replying. I wasn't sure about what the link tried to tell me but you just have confirmed it :) So, if I understood correctly, do I have to setup a WINS server in another member machine (let's say another Samba host) and point all my windows computers to such Samba as WINS server? I actually have nmbd running on my Samba 3.x domain member server. Does nmbd need an special setup for maintaining the network browsing list for windows machines? just curious
What is the expected behavior wrt ipv6 on Linux? My brother is trying to use sshd to bind to things and without '-6' on the commandline, it doesn't do any ipv6, even if 'ListenAddress ::' is listed in sshd_config. Also, with '-6', it receives ipv4 requests as well. This behavior is definately different from OpenBSD .. all addresses listed in sshd_config are used, and

Im just curious
Hi, Is it possible (well, look like it works) to include a preconfigured bind zone to samba named.conf, so I don't get that annoying zone conflict error message while I start bind? Actualy, the important question is, this kind of configuration could interfere with samba4 if the server is configured to use BIND9_DLZ? -- Kind regards: Robert

Are there any more details, mainly along the lines of CentOS sticking around - I know you folks all work really hard on this, and you know better than me how many others depend on you - but - there's

list of all objects - just being curious
Hello all, to obtain a list of all objects in all search paths, I've found the following to work: > biglist <- sapply(1:length(search()), objects) This more obvious one, however, does not work: > biglist <- sapply(search(), objects) Error in pos.to.env(pos) : invalid argument Still, search() gives [1] ".GlobalEnv" "package:ctest" "Autoloads"
