Samba4/Franky and wins/nmb
Hello, I have a question about netbios browsing in samba4. When I follow Samba4/Franky Howto I'm unable to browse my domain on windows clients (Win XP, 7). I see no computers in my domain in Network places. It wrotes that I have not permission to use this network resources (even for Domain Admins). I have "option netbios-dd-server 192.168.1.131; option netbios-node-type 2;" in

Odd behavior on group membership
Hi, I have a samba 4.7 AD DC running on a Ubuntu 18.04 server with distro packages. I update a user with a new group and this new membership is not reflected on that user. On example below, I can successfully add the user "test.account" to group "test", but not my user "marcio.merlone": root at araucaria:~# id test.account uid=30214(A1\test.account)

Adding Samba3/4 fileserver to samba4 domain
Hi! We've been trying to add a fileserver to our current samba4 test domain. The scenario is that we have several branch offices connected by low bandwith lines. So we want to have a fileserver locally handling home directories/profiles and stuff like that but a central DC handling logins, GPO and such. The DC (samba4) is up and running the way we would like it to but we're now stuck

testing samba 4 alongside samba 3
** hello folks, all started with searching for an MS exchange server connector to fetch my office my by Thunderbord on my private machine. So far I used Davmaill (OWA) but I'm not that satisfied, so I found OpenChange but that needs Samba4 installed on my NAS. So I was checking the Samba wiki and mailing archive but I'm bit confused. There are several version available, plus franky, what

Azure AD Connect
G'Day Marcio and gabben, Douglas (CC'ed) is going to try and look into why this doesn't 'just work' with Samba. No promises, but at least a trained eye will look over the process. If you could help him get set up and understand what works and doesn't that will leave him more time for actual debugging. The Azure AD sync feature is a big of an oddity in Samba, because it

samba and clearcase (PR#7829)
Hi Jeremy, thanks for the tip but ...(there's always a but) if I do this (increase MAX_OPEN_FILES to 1024), I get an error in log.smb: Can't create or use IPC area. Error was File exists I'm using FAST_SHARE_MODES to compile samba. Does this take up too much space or is there something else wrong? Blocking certain hostnames/clients
Hello, As a result of learning of the new 'Intro' App introduced by LinkedIn, and discussing how to block SMTP access to my postfix server from these clients, I'm now interested in doing the same for dovecot. Bottom line desire is to avoid scraping/hijacking email stored on my dovecot server by any client other than a users client. This includes Intro (so, LinkedIn), Blackberry,

Shared mailboxes - Can't open mailbox shared-boxes/user/name.lastname: Character not allowed in mailbox name: '.'
Hi, I am trying to make shared folders work on my server (Ubuntu 18.04, Dovecot 1:2.2.33.2-1ubuntu4.1). Mails are on Maildir++ local filesystem with '.' as layout separator and ALL 100+ users logins fits a template name.lastname, with a dot in the middle. I set up listescape but no luck. When I test with doveadm: root at mail:/etc/dovecot/conf.d# doveadm acl debug -u marcio.merlone
