Hello, I have a question about netbios browsing in samba4. When I follow Samba4/Franky Howto I'm unable to browse my domain on windows clients (Win XP, 7). I see no computers in my domain in Network places. It wrotes that I have not permission to use this network resources (even for Domain Admins). I have "option netbios-dd-server 192.168.1.131; option netbios-node-type 2;" in DHCP for clients. It works with nmbd from samba3 but not with the samba4. The difference I see is in: # nmblookup SAMBA4DOMAIN#1d Lookup failed - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT # nmblookup SAMBA3DOMAIN#1d 172.27.164.2 SAMBA3DOMAIN<1d> I'm able to disable nbt service in samba4 but then the samba3 nmbd doesn't maintain #1c requests without domain logons=yes. Is it ok to set samba3 (Franky) domain logons=yes? Or did I misconfigured something in samba4? How can I see the nmb/wins list in samba4? There is HUP signal for nmbd in samba3 but I don't know how I can obtain such list for samba4. Below I provide Franky config I use. Thank you for your help Luf samba4 config: [global] server role = domain controller workgroup = SAMBA4DOMAIN realm = SAMBA4.DOMAIN netbios name = PDC01 server string = PDC01 bind interfaces only = yes interfaces = 192.168.1.131/24 # Franky server services = -smb, -winbind samba3 config: [global] workgroup = SAMBA4DOMAIN realm = SAMBA4.DOMAIN netbios name = PDC01 bind interfaces only = yes interfaces = 192.168.1.131/24 security = user passdb backend = ads auth methods = guest netlogond rpc_server:lsarpc = external rpc_server:netlogon = external rpc_server:samr = external browse list = yes enhanced browsing = no domain master = yes local master = yes os level = 64 preferred master = yes wins support = yes dns proxy = yes
