Disabling NFS
Howdy,
With 3.1.3 the option was added to disable the builtin Gluster NFS.
Does that mean that the following scenario should work:
1. Disable Gluster NFS "gluster volume set <VOLUME> nfs.disable on"
2. Restart the gluster servers for good measure
3. On one of the gluster servers, mount the volume using the gluster fuse client:
mkdir /export/users
# In /etc/fstab add

IAX2 softphones can't (won't?) use PRI trunks....
I have call center PCs that switch between an IBEAM SIP softphone and a NEBU IAX softphone (for reasons
that aren't germane here). The SIP softphones work fine, but the IAX softphones get a fast busy unless I give
them an IAX trunk to use, instead of the PRI trunks that all the other phones are using. I am using Asterisk 1.2.3.

I've appended a sample call trace. The

NFSv4 "Missing" Data on Clients
Hello all. I converted my server from Fedora Core 3 to CentOS 4.1 and I've
been slogging unsuccessfully through an NFSv4 problem. I'm using the same
configuration for NFS that I had in place on FC3 that worked. On the server,
I have the following data structure:
/data
/data/archive
/data/pictures
/data/music
Each is a separate ext3 filesystem mounted with rw,acl. /etc/exports

Windows 2003 AD, Winbind, Kerberos and NFSv4
Hi All,
I'm having a bit of difficulty getting a CentOS 5.5 Kerberized NFSv4
server working. This server is configured as a Winbind client to a
Windows 2003 Active Directory. I've successfully bound it to AD and I am
able to authenticate. I've successfully created a NFSv4 entry in
/etc/exports to export the /exports directory and I can successfully mount
a non-Kerberized NFSv4

exports options
I have been running a local repository on a CentOS4 server. It serves
CentOS4 clients (and FC5, FC6, and SuSE10.x if I bother to mention). My
current options for exports is (ro,wdelay,insecure,root_squash). The ro
and insecure options were added manually and others are default. I
understand 'sync' is the default although it is not shown by exportfs -v.

nfs4 help needed
Fedora 13 is using nfs4, and there is a problem in opening files requiring
OpenOffice if accessed over an nfs3 mount, so it's time to change. I found a
couple of tutorials, and got it *almost* working correctly. This is where I
need help.
Logwatch tells me
/nfs4exports/Data1 and /Data1 have same filehandle for
*,192.168.0.0/24,192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0, using first

Can you provide some more details with respect to which libvirt version
you have installed. I know I've made changes in this space in more
recent versions (not the most recent). I'm no root_squash expert, but I
was the last to change things in the space so that

Did i get hacked?
hello,
i have a FreeBSD 4.8-PRERELEASE #0 that i use as a gateway / nat box for
my home.
It also acts as a dns / mail server to the outside world.
I'm using ipf and basically filter for bogus networks on the way in and out.
I allow everything out keeping state,
and allow this in:
pass in proto icmp from any to any icmp-type squench group 200
pass in proto icmp from any to any icmp-type timex

mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified
Hey guys,
My NFS server has been working really well for a long time now. Both
client and server run CentOS 7.2.
However when I just had to remount one of my home directories on an NFS
client, I'm now getting the error when I run mount -a
mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified
This is the corresponding line I have in my fstab file on the client:

NFS question (and Best Practices)
I saw in another post that a best practices doc will be coming, but I figured I would try to get this working.
I''m trying to understand why zfs uses so many "zfs create" so I can use it better. What makes sense is that each zfs fs can have it''s own options (compression, nfs, atime, quota, etc). I really love this because it is so tuneable -- compression on these

Test Line
Hi,
Somewhere in the Wiki I read that the best way to adjust the rxgain and
txgain is to dial a "type 102 milliwatt test line".
This line is usually found in xxx-958-nnnn or xxx-959-nnnn ranges.
I'm in area code 323 in Los Angeles.
Does anybody know the test number here??
Thanks,

nmblookup receives response, but doesn't show it
Hi folks,
I find that nmblookup seems to be receiving
responses to name queries, but ignoring them. Here's what's
happening:
# nmblookup somehost
querying somehost on x.y.255.255
name_query failed to find name somehost
But watching the transaction with ethereal on the local
host, I see that:
1. nmblookup on local udp port nnnn (some random number above 1024)

memdisk speed diagnostics?
Would it be a usefull addition to memdisk's "pause" parameter if it
showed the loading speed for the specified disk image file?
The idea is to verify if a device is really loading an operating
system's data at the intended device/controller/interface/bus (etc)
speed. My own system has a habit of setting usb2.0 interface to
1.1-speeds for example.
With (hopefully) bootable

NFS dont''s start at boottime
Hallo,
I''m running Xen 3 (xen-unstable tarball from 4/27) with kernel 2.6.16
and Debian Etch in all domains. Most things seem to work very well.
But I have some problems with NFS in domU. The NFS-Server started at
boot time but I cant''t access to the shares from a client.

NFS with UCARP vs. GlusterFS mount question
Morning Folks,
should I prefer NFS with UCARP or native GlusterFS mounts for serving the
system images to XCP?
Which one performes better over 1G network links?
NFS is probaby easier to setup due to existing tools like rpcinfo and
showmount, both are used inside the storage container code, and there is some
code for NFS, not for GlusterFS, except I write one.
UCARP has the disadvantage that

The only thing I can come up with is:
'/var/lib/one//datastores/0/38/disk.1': Permission denied
... that don't have access to that file. Could you elaborate on that?
I think it's either:
a) you are running the domain as root or
