Support for WMI?
Hello everyone,
I've been trying to use wmi-client but without success. I'm really
like to resolve this issue, I decided to ask for directions to get
data from Windows servers without the need to install a client.
Thinking about it, I wonder how is the WMI support in samba.
Another point: You can ask questions about wmi-client in this list?
I say this because the mistakes that I

Status of samba packages in Debian
It's been some time since I didn't send an update about samba packages
in Debian. Here it is. Fairly long, sorry for this.
As preliminary facts: Debian entered a full freeze in Mid-August, in
preparation of the next release, codename "squeeze". It means that
packages uploaded to Debian unstable no longer migrate to testing
(which is "the next release", so squeeze right

Compiling WMIC/Accessing WMI
Background:
As of Windows 10 version 2004, the wmic client no longer works. It gets
the following error -
[wmi/wmic.c:196:main()] ERROR: Login to remote object.
NTSTATUS: NT code 0x80010111 - NT code 0x80010111
This seems to be an RPC header error. Presumably Microsoft changed
something that broke wmic.
Since I found wmic.c in the samba source I thought that it might be able
to be compiled as

Windows security issues in WMI installation
Hello WINE friends,
I am a WINE newbie seeking your help with WMI installation
So far I have done the following -
1. installed wine-1.1.43 on SUSE 11.2
2. replaced wine's winsxs with my system's [XP] winsxs
3. replaced system32/ dlls except the ntdll, kernel32, user32 & gdi32 dlls with my system's
After this, when I try installing WMI (as stated below), I get into access

Samba 3.2.0-pre3 packages in Debian - version of Samba in Debian lenny
The day after Karolin announced the release of 3.2.0-pre3, the Debian
packaging team was able to upload .deb packages for it in Debian
*experimental*.
To use them, you need to already use Debian testing or unstable, then
add this to /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian experimental main contrib non-free
(replace "fr" by your favorite mirror country code)

Using WMI Classes to join worksation to domain
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I have been working on a Kix script to automatically change the workstation name and join the workstation to the domain. I have written most of the script (which works quite nicely) except the joining to the domain part. I have been using WMI classes to change the worksation name, and was hoping to do the same with the domain join. The

Can WMI be used in WINE apps?
Hi,
After some googling I've found that there's very
little said about the possibility of using WMI from
Wine.
Has someone done any progress about it?
I find this subject very important; if you feel
interested here's why:
One may think this is a somehow fanciful intention,
after all WMI exists for the purpouse of administering
Windows, and no doubt that's best done from

asus-wmi.ko for Asus G73Sw running CentOS 6.2
Hi List,
Just loaded our favorite OS onto my new ASUS laptop.
Practically everything worked out of the box - I used the live DVD to
check things out and installed from there.
I have followed

Samba 3.5.2 packages for Debian lenny
(please note that this mail is crossposted to 3 lists. No need to CC
me to answers, I read the 3 of them...)
Some users (including me with my professionnal hat) want to use 3.5
versions of samba on production servers running Debian. Of course,
most of the time, these production servers are running Debian lenny
(the stable version of the distribution).
Debian lenny ships with samba 3.2.5, so

Failing to add XP SP3 client to Samba domain
Hi,
I'm running samba 3.2.5 as a domain controller on a Debian Lenny server
with authentication data stored in a local openldap instance. The server
has been running smoothly since I originally set it up on Sarge. I upgraded
to Etch a while back and then to Lenny about a month ago.
I'm trying to add a new Windows XP SP3 client to the domain for the first
time since the latest upgrade

SPA941 WMI not lighting up when natted
I have an a bunch of SPA941 Linksys phones for users in and out of the
office. When the phones are in the office (and on the same network as
the asterisk server) the WMI goes on when it should and off when it
should. But when the phone is on another network and natted it fails
to do so. The light always stays off. Has anybody had a similar
problem (and hopefully a resolve)?

can't get Samba users from Windows
Hello!
I have installed Debian "Lenny" x64 and samba 3.2.5 from repository and I have some problems.
First:
When I set directory access rights via checkbox from WindowsXPPro SP3 it
seems that it has no effect. I have rebuild samba and samba-common,
version 3.0.24-6etch10, for Debian Lenny and this solved this problem.
Also in rebuilded version DFS is on by default.
Second:

The problem is that I can't see where I do something rung...
