setuids mount option broke
Hello,
I'm trying to export a /home/ partition for multiple users, using
Samba and the setuids option. My goal is to deliver emails into
$HOME/.Maildir/ for each user. So I mount the share as user "root",
hoping that each user will be able to use their own home directory (just
like an NFS /home/ mount). (This feature depends on the Unix extensions.)
I have the

Working example of mount.cifs -o setuids
Hi.
How do I use the option 'setuids'?
Logic suggests that it's intended for root mounts (with the ability to
chown from client), but everal threads on this list say the opposite.
Anyway, I can't make it work with or without 'valid users = root' or
'admin users = foo' in smb.conf. I tried samba 3.6.9 and 4.2
Please can someone post a working example of smb.conf,

Guild Wars - Direct3D8 is not available without OpenGL.
Hello everyone!
As one might think from my subject line this thread seems to be about the usual no-32bit-OpenGL-libraries-installed issue, that Google is full of when you are looking for a solution.
My problem is a bit different: My system is 64bit, indeed, but the 32 bit graphics libraries/drivers are installed.
32bit native games like Enemy Territory run fine.

Deliver Root Setuid
Hi,
I just configured my Postfix installation to deliver via Dovecot LDA. But
because I use separate uids for virtual domains I had to set deliver to be
setuid root. Altough I find this as frequent answer to this problem with
deliver LDA I am not a 100% sure - basically because I try to avoid root
setuids as much as I can.
What should be better solution - to have all mailboxes with one owner or

Print to File Formatting
Hello,
I am writing out to a file and have two quick questions that I can't
seem to track down the correct answers for. Luckily, I *think* they
are both simple enough that someone might be able to point me in the
right direction on them without too much trouble.
Both questions relate to the process below where CompleteFrame is a
data frame containing what I want printed to a file.

can't run DirectX applications properly - window garbled
Hello,
I have searched, read and tried everything I can think of, but without success. So I really need some help here.
The application I am currently trying to use is PixPlant, but I have the same problems with other apps using directx or opengl (I am totally confused now) to display some content. PixPlant is a program for generating textures. It has an area in its main window where it displays

Error when building doc/html
did the doxygen step fail? that's what generates the api docs

that has to work if you are building from CVS. for official
releases I include a prebuilt one in case the user doesn't have
doxygen.

Missing file to run Rcmd batch on Windows
Hi,
I'm trying to run an R script using Rcmd Batch from the command line on a
Windows Vista machine. I am using R version 2.8.1.
I installed the batch files 4-3 found at
http://cran.r-project.org/contrib/extra/batchfiles/ and added them to my
path.
I also had to install the latest version of perl (it's Strawberry perl if
that makes a difference) and have added this to my path.
Now when

Performance Difference? Windows vs. Linux
I'm not trying to start a Windows vs. Linux debate, but I've been
using R on a Windows machine for a while, and was recently wondering
if R's performance would be faster on a Linux machine. And similarly,
if any incremental increase in processing speed would be worth the
time it would take me to migrate my entire system to Linux (including
a database that I access via an R package.)

Kimura san,
You may ask committer of r153706. I wonder if it could be x86-independent.
