nt_status_logon_failure with samba 3.23c
Hello, I'm uncertain as to whether this went through, my apologies if it is a duplicate message. I've got a samba 3.23c box that i'm trying to get Ghost working with for image storage. I'm using a dos networking client, created by the ghost boot wizard for a rtl8139 nic. My problem is whenever i try to log on to the machine i'm getting an authentication error. So, i

Once again: Samba always comes with its own users database. You have Samba so you have Samba users in addition of systems users. You have to use smbpasswd -a username. And telling that, I'm not asking you anything, I'm telling you what you have to do to solve your issue. 2015-11-04 11:28 GMT+01:00 Roger Wu <wu1004 at gmail.com>: > 2015-11-04 17:11 GMT+08:00 Rowland Penny

Hi, I installed samba 4.0.0rc4 with CentOS 6.7. I'm now trying to setup samba server using NIS authentication and access from Windows 7, but I hit one question I don't know how to deal with. After starting service, I tried the following command, but got an error message [root at testcad16 samba]# smbclient -L //testcad16 Enter root's password: session setup failed:

getting NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I have been having issues with my W7 client "access is denied" to changing the security (user permissions) settings and have been posting regarding that issue yesterday. I have discovered that my "ads join member server" is not completely joined (I think.) I discovered a post from February 2014, by Louis "[Samba] member joined, but . . ." and ran some of his

Upgrade 3.0.10 to 3.0.24 on RHEL4 - NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hi all, I'm having a problem with an upgrade of Samba running on a Redhat4 Update 4 system. The default installation provides only 3.0.10 which doesn't include the privilege model or a number of fixes including some in 3.0.21a and 3.0.23 which it looks like we'll need. The system runs in PDC mode with user accounts in an ldap database. On a test system which I'm using to

smbclient & NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I'm running smbclient 3.0.14a-Debian. I'm trying to view shares on a Windows server on a Active Directory domain: $ smbclient //fileserver/ Password: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE I'm pretty sure the username and password is correct since it works when I use a Windows client to connect to the fileserver. What does the NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE mean in this

The server successfully joins the domain when using smbpasswd, however, when running smbclient -L localhost I get the following error: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE Also when attempting to access shares from windows
