Files monitoring through Samba
I am trying to setup a way to watch each file that is created, updated, and deleted through samba. I have currently looked at inotify but I am not sure if that is the best way. What suggestions would you have to setup a way to get some type of event when one of these actions occur? I would like to watch a directory recursively and be able to run a shell script or perl script and that script know

DearR Users, I have a problem which I think you might be able to help. I have a dataframe which I'm trying to "filter" following different groups I specified. It's a little hard to explain, so here is an example: My dataframe: ESS DHP 1 EPB 22 2 SAB 10 3 SAB 20 4 BOJ 14 5 ERS 28 11 SAB 10 12 SAB 22 13 BOJ 26 20 SAB 10 21 SAB 22 22 BOJ 32 29 SAB 14 30 SAB

VS2005 Command Line interface
Please forgive me if this is covered elsewhere. I did a lot of searches but could not find anything pertaining to what I would like to do. I am developing a product using C/C++ for which the end customer has settled on Visual Studio 2005. I am able to build on my Mac with GNU tools for development and testing but deliverables must be built with VS2005. I am currently using VMWare Fusion but

If you are using distributed/replication, then yes, a new server with be adding a portion of it's space to add more space to the cluster. Wait, in a distribute-replicate,

syslog-ng
Hello, I know centos does not use syslog-ng, but I have installed it at my university. My intention is if a particular string appears in my /var/log/messages I would like to get an email alert. For example, if i see a message "foo" in /var/log/kern I would like to email myself. Any idea how to do this? Has anyone done this before? TIA

Efficient way to identify an instruction
Hi Alberto, I have not used this myself, but I think you should be able to visit your Instruction ‘users()’. I think the name this function was given is a bit confusing, but this returns an iterator range you can iterate through to find instructions that depend on a given one. Similarly, you have the function ‘uses()’ that can be used to traverse down the DAG when instructions are still on SSA

How can I get over this message without really installing an Internet Explorer? As far as I know, for all Applications that require IE, the renderengine khtml is used instead. Could it be hacked in that
