Failure to preserve package attribute when coercing S4 objects (PR#6904)
If a class is derived from a superclass using 'contains', then coercion of an object from the class to the superclass fails to preserve the 'package' attribute of class of the object. This occurs only when the derived class has no additional slots. This is a problem because the 'new' function relies on the exact identity of the class, including the package attribute.

ownership and permissions using rsync in daemon mode
I've tried as best I can to get this worked out, and crawled the web and the documentation but I just can't seem to figure out how to maintain ownership and permissions from the sending side using rsync in daemon mode. I feel I have to be missing something stupid with the proper use of uid/gid/fake super. I'm trying to automate synchronizing some program binaries between a production

WiFi SIP phones
Greetings list, What are people's experiences with WiFi SIP phones? When I last looked into them about 18 months ago, they were incredibly expensive, had very limited range and poor battery life. In the end, it worked out much more cost effective to simply use ATAs + DECT cordless phones where there was a requirement for portable devices. I assume things must have moved on somewhat since

pointer subtraciton on arm for 8.3p1
I use OpenSSH server on an embedded arm using GCC7 cross toolchain. I found that spamming connection attempts sometimes causes aborts in sshd. Upon getting this up in gdb I found that the pointer subtraction inside openbsd-compat/{strlcat.c,strlcpy.c} (and maybe elsewhere) causes the 32 bit pointer difference to wrap which triggers the abort because of the -ftrapv option. This example illustrates

Snom Programmable button Mini Howto and ring state patch
The snom 200 and 220 have five programmable buttons. Each button has a led that can be used to indecate if an extension is idle, in use, or ringing. A button pannel for the 220 is also comming out soon that will have 20'ish programmable buttons on board. This is a killer app for any company that has receptionists handle calls, and pretty usefull for everyone else. As a matter of fact,

Suggestions for Outbound Proxies?
Although nat=yes/qualify=yes can handle some NAT routers, it does not handle all situation in both directions. Our experience suggests that nothing short of a full SIP Outbound Proxy is going to handle things properly. We have tried out ABP International's NATpass and SNOM's NATfilter, both with results that were underwhelming. Has anyone out there tried out a software SIP Outbound Proxy

AudioCodes Unreliable DTMF Detection
We're trying to use some AudioCodes MP104 FXO units as gateways to Asterisk but cannot get them to reliably detect DTMF. Some landline calls get most digits but some are duplicated. Some cell phone calls get 0% DTMF recognition. Anyone with experience with these units have any suggestions? ABP Technical Support has been unable to diagnose the problem and is now sending random guesses and

Re: Trusting and trusted domain (home mapping) problem
Hi Igor, Thanks so much for troubleshooting all this while and we found out none of our configuration is the problem but the source code. Hope that the samba team will modify to a working code so that I can deploy it. Actually my dateline to deploy is coming soon and I do not know what to do now..... when do you think the code will be modified and be released? Thanks so much for your help.

res_odbc.conf and odbc show
I have a mixed PBX system with both Asterisk 1.4.21 and 1.2.27 (moving to 1.2.28). For now I need to keep a few boxes in 1.2 and not migrate them all to 1.4. However, I would like to have func_odbc and res_odbc on all servers. On 1.4.21, native func_odbc seems to work fine. On 1.2.27, the func_odbc backport is giving me an error (I know that this backport is not "officially supported"

hints and the sNOM 360
Hi I am trying to get a SNOM 360 to monitor other extensions i.e. when someone makes a call to/from another extension, one of the LED's on the SNOM 360 will change state. I am using 1.0.9/bristuff-8l. I have 2 extensions - 2001 is a SNOM 190, 2002 is a 360 - both are running the latest firmware. (3.60i for 190, 4.0 for 360). I have read all the relevant articles on the wiki on

An FXO version of IAXy?
Hello-- In the interest of Symmetry, does anyone else in the world see any need for a device like the IAXy (or the SIP ones from other manufacturers, like the ATA186), but one that presents an FXO interface instead, so it can be connected not to phones, but the PSTN? murf
