Forte Agent windowing problem
Forte Agent newsreader on Wine 1.0 on Mandriva 2008.1. If I close Agent and then re-open it, its inner newsreader pane becomes dislodged as a floating section in a scrollable window. The following image (size 29k) shows what I mean. The top image is before closing and the lower image is after re-opening. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk268/farry6/agent.png This happens if it's

Win98 asks for IPC$ password
Hi all, After I converted my Linux desktop from Mandriva 2008.1 with Samba 3.0.28a to Ubuntu 9.04 with Samba 3.3.2, my Windows 98 box could no longer connect to my Linux desktop via Samba. The symptom was that Windows kept asking for the IPC$ password. Linux clients have no problem with the Ubuntu Samba server. My machine is called "mydesk", and on every Linux box in the house, the

R rpm for Mandriva 2008.1 ?
Are there any R rpm's for Mandriva 2008.1? I found a couple of dodgy ones that wouldn't install so far (rpmfind.net). (Sorry that seems so far the only Linux distribution that recognizes my hardware on my new laptop correctly. I'm more familiar to Fedora and Suse so perhaps I'm just doing something wrong?) Joanne

I've encountered a new problem building gluster-2.0.1 that I did not have with gluster-2.0.0rc8. This is on a mandriva-2008.1-x86_64 system. ../../libtool: line 466: CDPATH: command not found ../../libtool: line 1144: func_opt_split: command not found libtool: Version mismatch error. This is libtool 2.2.6 Debian-2.2.6a-4, but the libtool: definition of this LT_INIT comes from an older

pam_winbind: user needs new password
Hi, I just upgraded from Mandriva 2009.0 (Samba 3.2.3) to Mandriva 2009.1 (Samba 3.3.2), keeping all the same config files I had before. I use pam_winbind to authenticate users against MS Active Directory. Everything was working perfectly prior to the upgrade, and now everything seems to be fine except for one thing: no user can have access due to the following errors (taken from auth.log): May

Code coverage for member functions that are defined inside the class
Hello, We have a user that wants to get the code coverage report for his library without turning on instrumentation for the library clients or change how they are built (only the library is instrumented). It seems like the inline member functions defined in headers are not instrumented in this case because the clients are not instrumented. The library itself does not have a copy of the inline

Shorewall in Mandriva
Hi Tom and folks, Mandriva is shipping shorewall in its main distribution for some time now. It is built on a custom .spec, but I keep it in sync with latest versions of shorewall package. I heard that there were some issues with Mandriva''s package of shorewall, but it was before I started working on it, and the guys that were maintaining it before are no longer working on it.

Rpm builders: Dovecot spec file
Maybe best asked to Axel... I'm re-building my server from scratch (the old one was MDK 10.1 -> Mandriva 2006.0 with Postfix/Courier) and I want to install the latest versions postfix/mysql/postfixadmin/dovecot/squirrelmail. I've been building Dovecot (and postfix) from tarballs/srpm in the past so I know more or less how it all fits together. But I wonder if 'old' patches

Call of Duty 4: Corrupt fastfile only on Ubuntu?
Hello! I was running Mandriva 3 weeks ago and I had installed Call of Duty 4, and it worked (with version 1.1.6) When Ubuntu Intrepid RC was out, I decided to install it over my Mandriva, and I also installed wine version 1.1.6, but it didn't work as on Mandriva! When launching multiplayer, CoD4 gives this error: Fastfile for zone 'code_post_gfx_mp' is corrupt or unreadable. I have

LTO and intrinsics mangling
In the current mangling scheme for overloaded intrinsics we include overloaded type names in the intrinsic name. For example: %struct.foobar = type { i32 } declare <4 x %struct.foobar*> @llvm.masked.load.v4p0struct.foobar(<4 x %struct.foobar*>*, i32, <4 x i1>, <4 x %struct.foobar*>) Verifier checks that an overloaded intrinsic name matches with its signature. group membership inconsistency on AD domain member
Hi, I've been running a samba server with winbind (CentOS 7) as a member of an AD Domain (Windows 2012 R2) for several months without a problem. "Suddenly" I'm seeing the problem that the membership in newly created AD groups isn't correctly visible for some users on the samba server or only after some indefinite amount of time. I'm looking simply at the output of

Verbose output from R CMD check
I've been developing a package called foobar for a couple of years now. It has evolved through various versions, but has always contained compiled C code. Recently, R CMD check has started generating the following message [START QUOTE] R CMD check foobar_1.7.5.tar.gz * using log directory ?/home/david/foobar/package/foobar.Rcheck? * using R version 2.15.2 (2012-10-26) * using platform:

Poll for thoughts on hierifying modules and OS default differences
Hello lovelies, Our team is deliberating a few different options for the hierification of our modules; and wanted to poll the collective genius before making our decision. As we all know, there are certain attributes of a package which are, by default, consistent on an OS... say, the name of a package..... class foobar { include foobar::params $package = $foobar::params::package Package
