Samba4 in FreeBSD 9 i386 for Domain controller not working. Samba version 4.1.0 pre1-GIT cf15406
Hi, Samab gurus! I tried to make Samba4 work on FreeBSD 9.1 i386 but failed to join an XP computer to the domain. What I did is: 1, git clone git://git.samba.org/samba.git samba-master 2, cd /usr/local/samba-master 3, ./configure --enable-debug --enable-selftest && make && make install 4, /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba-tool domain provision --realm=xyz.pccom.ca--domain=dcxyz

smbd process
We are in the process of updating samba on our Solaris servers from (2.0.5) to (3.0.2) I have completed one host and all seems to working ok. However I have noticed that for both versions of samba, as users map shares the smbd process which starts can be either own by root or the users id. This seems to be random. Can anyone shed light as to what controls the owner of this process. This is

Realm trust between Samba AD and MIT kerberos realm
Hi all, I was hoping to setup a realm trust between a Samba AD domain and a kerberos realm running mit-krb5, however it looks like that isn't currently supported. Is that correct, or am I missing something (I'm running Samba 4.9.4)? Having noticed that "samba-tool domain trust" only seems to cater for trusts involving other AD domains, I tried to workaround that (in the

kerberos issue (SPN not found) with windows Hyper-V ( samba 4.5.3 AD)
After reviewing logs I found that my previous assumption was wrong. Situation: - i'm trying to start live migration from hyper-v host A (BMSRV4-HYPERV) to hyper-v host B (BM-SRV-5) from host B (logged in as user from DOMAIN ADMINS group). Kerberos constrained delegation is set in accordnance to microsoft instructions with proper SPN's set (well, proper as in with the workaround I

Re: Obtaining Cisco Firmware painlessly andLEGITIMATELY?
CDW is not a Gold Cisco partner. I would talk with a group called Shore Group http://www.shoregroup.com I know they do a lot of Cisco VoIP work and can sell you a SmartNet contract no problem. modifying Openssh config script for KTH-KRB (fwd)
Dear OpenSSH developers, Hi, taking the liberty of sending this to your mailing list in the hope someone will be able to help. The KTH version of Kerberos 4 was the only one I was able to find. In case you don't want to look at all the stuff below, the situation is briefly that I am trying to compile openssh with kerberos 4 support, which it apparently has. However, it can't find krb.h,

libzfs zfs_create() fails on sun4u daily bits (daily.1110)
I encountered a strange libzfs behavior while testing a zone fix and want to make sure that I found a genuine bug. I''m creating zones whose zonepaths reside in ZFS datasets (i.e., the parent directories of the zones'' zonepaths are ZFS datasets). In this scenario, zoneadm(1M) attempts to create ZFS datasets for zonepaths. zoneadm(1M) has done this for a long time (since

AD and home directory on Linux
I'm trying to get my home directory (automaticly) mounted from the AD server via SMB - I can't (don't want to) use NFS, because that fucks up the file modes (even with SFU it's not compatible enough). Using LibNSS/LDAP and LibPAM/{LDAP,Krb5} will authenticate me, get me a ticket and overall work exactly as planed. However, my home directory isn't availible (I had to create

Samba 3.4.2 on Solaris 9 build problem
Hi, I'm trying to build samba 3.4.2 on Solaris 10 using SunStudio 12 but I've hit a snag. The configure line used was: CFLAGS="-xcode=pic32 -KPIC -m64 -I/ec/sw/samba/openldap/current/include -Iec/sw/samba/krb/current/include" \ CPPFLAGS="-xcode=pic32 -KPIC -m64 -I/ec/sw/samba/openldap/current/include -I/ec/sw/samba/krb/current/include" \

Re: Obtaining Cisco Firmware painlessly and LEGITIMATELY?
I'm in the UK and have had terrible trouble getting the right contract. After looking on voip-info I set off looking for a vendor only to find that no-one sells the $9 contract. Cisco retracted that one :-( I asked for the equivalent and they said I needed a ?20 contract. I said fine but after 20 minutes or so got a call saying I couldn't have that one as it didn't give me access

Problems with Xen HVM image on DRBD filesystem
Hi, I have been trying to create a xen HVM Centos4.4 image on centos 5 with a DRBD filesystem installing from DVD. However I get an IO error on the filesystem during the centos installation process which then aborts. The DRBD filesystem seem to be setup correctly and is functioning as a block device as I can mkfs -t ext3 /dev/drbd1 read and write without error. If I replace the disk

Cannot compile openssh-3.5.p1 on Irix 6.5.15 with kerberos4
Hi, I have the following problem. I think it's arising from the fact, that DES algorithms are fetched from libcrypto and not from libdes anymore. But, some types still clash. I use krb4-1.2.1 from http://www.pdc.kth.se/kth-krb cc -O2 -n32 -TARG:platform=IP22 -OPT:Olimit=0 -I/usr/local/include -I/software/@sys/usr/include -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.0/include -I/usr/local/openssl/include

kerberos issue (SPN not found) with windows Hyper-V ( samba 4.5.3 AD)
Hello, This won't be a very helpful reply, but I can confirm I've had the exact same issue. I ran into this a few years ago and could not get HyperV migrations to work with a Samba DC. I even went so far as to install a Windows DC just to prove to myself that it is supposed to work, and it does, perfectly (with ADDC it even creates all the SPNs for you auto-magically). Question about Kerberos and what is the different if compile with internal heimdal or mit-krb5
Dear All, Would like some know the answer on the above question. What is the different between compiling using internal heimdal library vs mit-krb5. I'm on gentoo and thus like other distro having issue on the system-wide mit-krb and removing it is not that convenient (But still possible) I've try to compile samba 4.1.2 with internal heimdal library to work as a Domain controller But
