Linux SMB Mount utils patch
Hi, I'm sure that you are all aware that the mount utilities that ship with samba are designed to compile and run only with Linux 2.1 series development kernels. I'll _try_ keep this short and sweet while doing my best to explain what I have done, since I have a tendancy to ramble on. I have two boxes, one Linux with libc5, and another with Linux and Glibc2 (aka libc6). The Samba

building on Red Hat 5.2
Hi, I'm trying to build samba 2.0.5a on Red Hat 5.2. It originally came with 1.9something, which seemed to have some bugs accessing large mounted directories. I downloaded Red Hat's updates package, but unfortunately it only comes with smbclient and smbd, and what I need is smbmount and smbumount. My binaries from my more recent systems (RH6 and OL2.2) won't run due to

Win7/W2K8 R2 sp1
After upgrading Win7 and W2K8 R2 clients to service pack 1 it is no longer possible to log in to domain(before the upgrade the clients can log in into domain). Clean installation of Win7/W2K8 R2 with integrated sp1 has the same effect. Our domain PDC is running on samba 3.3.7. I'm curious if anyone else has seen this already. Thank you Mikhail Zuskov

W2K8 online migration delays guest execution 45-50 seconds
I''m experiencing a problem with XenEnterprise migration for a Windows 2008 server VM where a large % of the time I notice a 45-50 sec delay after the VM has been migrated to the other side. I''m wondering if anyone in this list is using XenEnterprise and has tried W2k8 migrations. Thanks in advance. W2K8 online migration delays guest execution 45-50 seconds Posted: Mar

samba to act as bdc for w2k8 AD?
Hello everybody, could samba (version 3 or 4) act as a "bdc" for an w2k8/r2 AD? There's one external office with a few users only, and there will be a samba-based system for file-storage - so if that system could also do the user-authentication for all users there it'd be nearly perfect ... Have a nice weekend! Torsten

Domain login delays w2k8 R2
Hello! We have a w2k8 R2 64-bit machine in a Samba 3.4.4 controlled domain. When logging in as a domain user there is a ~30 sec delay waiting for the User Profile Service. This has nothing to do with the size of the user profile. Looking at the network traffic I can see 2 gaps, the first about 11 sek and the second about 19 sek with no packets sent except one TCP ACK (from the client) in each

Samba4 AC DC Ready! But "W2k8 R2" doesn't join...
Hey guys! This is my first message to this list... I'm must say that I'm very impressed with Samba4! It is an amazing project! Nice job!! Last time I used Samba was back in 1998~2000... But, I got a new job that is forcing me to remove 3 Windows Servers with AD, by Samba4. So, I just deployed Samba4 on top of Ubuntu 14.04, it have Bind9, IPv6, a Secondary DC with replication, everything

Printing from Vista/W2K8 with 3.4 Print Server
I have a Samba 3.4.0 print server with WinXP, Win2K3, Vista, and Win2K8 clients. The print server functions fine with WinXP and Win2K3. The drivers show up properly and if you look in server properties from those clients you can see the Samba printer port, the drivers, and print forms. However under Vista and Win2K8 server I get nothing. The clients say that the drivers aren't

W2k8 "DNS Manager" doesn't work anymore...
Hey guys, Since the deployment, in production, of my brand new `Samba4 AC DC` (Ubuntu 14.04.1), I was using regularly the "Windows 2008 R2 Enteprise" (also brand new installation - no I.E. installed) software called "DNS Manager", to manage my `Samba4 + Bind9` couple but, since today, out of nothing, the "DNS Manager" does not work anymore, I'm seeing the

3.6/SMB2.0 and NT6.0 (Vista/W2K8 not-R2) question
Hello Samba Team, Have a W2K8 not-R2 (NT6.0) server that compiles code served from a CentOS 5.6 server running Samba 3.5.5 over an Infiniband link. Works nice but an 'imake' step that grinds through every source file several times takes ten-to-twenty times longer than when it runs locally on the Linux side. It's apparent that the entire source tree is cached in memory by Linux, but

dcpromo on W2k8 R2 server with existing Samba AD domin fails to complete
I’m attempting to stand up a Windows 2008 R2 server as a domain controller to integrate with an existing Samba AD environment with 6x Samba AD servers (4.10.1) and multiple sites. This is the first Windows DC. I have a couple other Win2012 servers that are already domain joined, and ~ 300 Win 10 desktop/laptop hosts I’ve followed the guide on the wiki:

[PATCH] qemu-traditional: update configure check for -lrt changes in glibc 2.17
configure uses clock_gettime to check whether -lrt is needed - and don''t check other functions. With glibc 2.17 clock_gettime is part of libc, so use timer_gettime instead, which is in -lrt in old and new versions of glibc.
