Ruby on Rails Presentation to Agile Atlanta Group tonight...
Hi everyone,
We had a really successful meeting tonight in Atlanta. The topic was
an introduction to Ruby on Rails and our attendance was 30 people,
which is over double of what we normally get. (Our attendance has
dropped since moving the venue about 25 miles north of the city.
The majority of the group stayed well past two hours, at which point
we took a break. The entire presentation and

(inaugural?) Austin-area LLVM social
Some of my LLVM colleagues that I only seem to encounter at the annual Bay
Area dev meeting live right here in Austin, TX. We should get together for
a social, yeah?
And I suppose there's bound to be more around here who might be interested
who haven't been able to trek to San Jose.
So consider this an official solicitation to Austin area LLVM fans. Write
back with interest and I'l

VoIP/Asterisk presentation
For those interested, I'm giving a talk about VoIP/enum.164/asterisk
tonight in Sydney at the Sydney LUG meeting which is about 7pm in the UTS
build #2, 4th floor, room 10.
Sorry for the late notice, it didn't occur to me that there might be
people on this list interested and able to attend etc...

Austin meetup?
Looks like I''ll be in Austin from Tuesday (late) night until Saturday
morning. Any Puppeteers in Austin who want to get together?
I''ve got vague plans to hang out with whurley, but I''d love to meet a
few more people in the community. Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday
night should work fine (although not all three).

[LLVMdev] Who is physically near Austin?
I'm taking Talin's idea and running with it with respect to the Austin
area. If you're into LLVM and within easy-enough driving distance to
make it worthwhile to get together every month or so in Austin, please
post here. If there's enough interest, I'll set something up at a
local restaurant or someplace like that.

S4 - inheritance changed by order of setClassUnion and setAs()
Andreas,
As far as I can tell (/conjecture), this is because the list of classes a
particular class inherits from directly is appended to as needed, and so
the order that a class extends others isd refined by the order that those
connections are defined.
We can see this with two setClassUnion calls, rather than required setAs:

what about Austin railers?
If Tuscon has some rail users, I know there must be some other Austin

S4 - inheritance changed by order of setClassUnion and setAs()
Dear colleagues,
there is a behaviour with S4 (virtual) classes that I find very hard to understand: Depending on the position
of setAs(), the tree of inheritance changes.
This is my baseline example that defines the classes "grandma", "mother", "daughter" and a virtual
class "mr_x". For a new instance if "daughter", "mr_x" is betweeen

A Tribute to my Great Grandmother (Off Topic)
I realize this is off-topic, but I need to post it.
I had to go up to Connecticut on January the 12th quite unexpectedly
because my great-grandmother Ethel, someone I was very close to, died
that morning, at 93 years old. She was an incredible woman. I was
asked to be one of the pallbearers.
Her ultimate goal in life, and one she fulfilled every day, was to
make people laugh. She truly
