German Umlaut issue on uNSLUnged Linksys with Samba3
[sorry for my maybe newbie Qs and using this group for my busybox issue but though having visited some forums about this I'm getting nuts] I unslugged a Linksys NSLU2 device with V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.8-beta as I plan to use it as a DC replacement for my W2k server at home. But I already got stuck before this. Following the unslinging I installed the Samba3 IPKGs for the NSLU guided by the hints

samba 3.0.22 and OS/2 connectivity
Hi All I have a Linksys NSLU2 device which is used to hook USB2 drives upto my network as network attached storage. The Linksys firmware upgrade for this device includes samba 3.0.11 which is a non-starter regarding OS/2 connectivity. There is an alternative firmware based on the Linksys firmware called Unslung from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/ The Unslung firmware allows

Grandstream GXP 2010 : multiple accounts not working
On my Grandstream GXP 2010 I have the possibility for 6 channels and thus 6 different accounts... Line 1 I define an account that registers directly to an online Asterisk-server, somewhere in a datacentre. Line 2 I define an account that registers to the local Asterisk-server (NSLU2 unslung) When I activate both accounts, only the first account (to the Asterisk-server on the internet) registers.

file.access() on network (mounted) drive on Windows Vista?
Hi, I have a writable and readable file on a small network file system (Cisco NSLU2 Unslung; non-NTFS) that I access via a mounted drive on Windows Vista. My problem could be due to a "funny" file system/server, but here it goes: > pathname <- "Q:/foo.txt" > cat(file=pathname, "Hello world!\n") > readLines(pathname) [1] "Hello world!" >

Disapearing print share
Samba 3.4.7 on Ubuntu Lucid; every so often, a workstation cannot print. Restarting Samba fixes it. I finally noticed that, when broken, the print share no longer shows up in 'smbclient -L'. And, I get messages in the logs like: [2010/07/30 12:16:11, 0] smbd/service.c:1202(make_connection) 10.1.1.3 (10.1.1.3) couldn't find service petunia [2010/07/30 12:30:26, 0]

Disapearing Drives
I have been having a problem with my Samba server for about a month now and need help. I am having users mysteriously losing access to drives during the day. The drive will un-map itself and any further attempt to access it through wither Windows Explorer or just typing the UNC in the "Run" window will result in a "Drive or path not accessible" error. On the samba side,

The only magic to note is the machine only has 32MB of ram so low

I'm in the process of trying to build a project, and I'm hoping that someone on the list can help me out. I have an Icecast server already running, and some feeds coming in from Simplecast, Edcast, and DarkIce. These encoders are obviously on computers owned by users who can setup feeds are send them to my Icecast server remotely. What I am looking for, is a small PC that is capable

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hello, I have a 500GB external hard drive with a lot of music in flac format. I would like to find a way to play music directly from the drive through a portable player. I do not own a portable player at the moment and intend to buy one that can support the above requirement. What I don't want to do is copy files across and remove them every time I want to listen to music. Is there a way to
