Offline files with Windows - again
Hi Guys
It saddens me to say so, but I'm going to have to order a copy of
Windows Server unless I can get this issue of offline files resolved.
Basically, we have a problem when users have "Offline Files" enabled in
Windows XP. When they log off, create or modify a file, and then log
back on, the files they have created/modified refuse to synchronise,
returning an error to the

Offline Folders on Win XP issues.
Hi,
I have searched for a problem similar to mine, but haven't seen it reported.
Problem:
Using offline folders on Win XP, I can:
* Synchronize
* Work locally on Win XP
* Synch back to Samba
I cannot:
* Open OpenOffice files marked as offline *when I'm connected* to my samba

offline folders problem with W2k SP2
Hi,
had samba 2.1.?? version and Win2k running for some time and
offline folders worked just fine. But recently I installed
SP2 on Win2k and did a samba upgrade to 2.2.3 and now the
offline folders do not work any more. Everything is fine
until I go offline, */CSC/ contains my offline files and
everything seems fine, but when being offline I always get
access denied messages when accessing

Offline Files won't sync after Samba upgrade
Dear Samba users,
Having scanned this list archive, this problem has been raised several
times over the past 12 months on this list, but mostly without any
response. Now it's happened to us too, and I raise it again in case
anybody has figured it out in the meantime.
All our employees are provided with laptops, and spend a lot of time
working offline. We make extensive use of the Offline

XP Clients loose connection (offline files)
Hi,
I have an small network with about 50 Clients.
I use Samba4.0alpha14 als PDC and Samba3.5.4 als File- an Printserver on different (virtual) machines. On both machines a bind-dnsserver is running (master and slave).

Windows offline files synchronization failure for mounted Samba drive.
Windows offline files synchronization fails for mounted Samba drive unless
files are "owned" by the user performing the synchronization.
You can duplicate this problem by making a folder or file which is located
on a samba mounted drive available offline.
1) From windows Explorer on a Windows XP SP2 Machine connected to the
network samba drive, right click on a test file

Samba 3.4.4 & Windows 7 offline folders
Hi!
Is it possible that Samba 3.4 has some problems with offline folder
synchronisation on windows 7 clients?
I can't get it really working. I added this entries according to another
user experiencing
similar problems to the share:

Microsoft Windows Offline Folders headaches
Once working they are great, but getting offline folders to re-synch can
sometimes waste many tens of minutes.
Right now I have a Windows 2000 laptop with a Samba server's existing public
folder share set as offline within network hood on the laptop
(\\Emerald\Public). The Windows laptop and the Samba server are in the same
workgroup. Other Windows clients can browse to the Samba server, get

Offline Folders
We have just recently started using Windows XP Offline Folders here,
and it is causing all sorts of festive problems. If a folder is set for
offline use on a client, whether that folder is on our samba server or
not, the samba server becomes unavailable or only very slightly
available at best.
Example:
Explorer - Windows 2003 Server, Quattro - samba 3.0.22 server on

Win {vista, 7} + Offline folders + samba + clamfs resulting in .tmp files.
Hi Guys
I am writing, hoping you could help me with this.
As the subject states, I have a Samba (3.4.7) server. On it I have
created 2 shares one that I access the files directly and the other
share I access the same files via clamfs (1.0.1).
Then I connect a Windows 7 machine to it. With offline files disabled,
I have no problems, however with offline files enabled I am getting a
lot of .tmp

Hi all,
our NT server guy has just asked me if I can disable/prevent offline folder support on a Samba share. This
is something which is configurable on a Windows 2000/2003 server share. Any help much appreciated,

Offline folders and XP SP2
Hi All
Various versions and patches of Samba (2&3) seen this on a number of sites
now. XP SP 2 will report a server off line, and go offline, typically after
being connected to a network for 1-2 mins. Mainly all sites running Mandrake
Linux 9.2 or 10.0 with default shipping Samba.
Removing off line folders or SP2 solves the problem. There is no bandwidth
or networking issues.

Problem with offline drive
Hi !
I hope that someone will be abble to help me with the problem I get with my
samba machines, though it is not really a samba problem.
Here is the config I use :
I'm running a samba controler on a rhel 5 machine (rpm -qa says
samba-3.0.33-3.7.el5) which acts as a domain controler.
My machines, all windows XP use to be connected to this controler. I have no
problem with them. The problem

Synchronizing offline files that I am not the owner of fails (Samba 2.2.8/3.0.0)
Hi everyone,
Problem: Windows XP's offline files synchronization fails with an
"Access is denied" message, if you have edited an offline file that you
have group based access to, but you are not the owner of. (Not using an
ACL-compatible filesystem.)
In 2.2.x the change appears to be successfully written to the server
anyway; subsequent synchronization attempts suggests that the
