SUSE Patches
Hello all,
I am running SLES9 with the latest kernel patches (2.6.5-7.282-bigsmp)
and ocfs2 version (1.2.1-SLES), I was wondering if anyone had any info
on if the latest ocfs2 will be included in SLES anytime soon. Or how to
get the patches from Novell. Thanks in advance!

Transient xen performance issue
I''m installing Xen with the OpenSUSE 10.2 distro and the
bigsmp-2.6.18.8-0.13.i586 kernel. However, I occasionally get insane
amounts of slowdown (almost 100x) in dom0. On bootup, performance is
normal. After an undeterministic period of time, I get this crazy
amount of slowdown. I''m not sure why this is the case and I have spent
a long time trying to figure it out.

Joining a MS sevrer 2008 R2 machine to a Samba domain
Hello,
I'm have an established Samba domain, where Samba is the PDC. It is working well
with XP and Win7 clients.
However, there is some bespoke software that must run on a Windows Server, due
to the number of concurrent connections issue.
So, we have installed a Windows 2008 R2 server and joined it to the Samba
domain. This worked fine after applying the registry changes listed on the

help with for loop: new column giving count of observation for each SITEID
Hello,
I think this is easy, but I can't seem to find a good way to do this in the R help. I have a list of sites, with multiple years of data for each site id. I want to create a new column that gives a number describing whether it is the 1st year ("1" ) the data was collected for the site, the second year ("2"), etc. I have different years for each siteid, but I don't

NT domain login no longer works after distro upgrade (samba 4.2.12 -> 4.3.11, 4.4.5)
Workstation is member of NT domain, DC is samba 3.6.12.
Was running Fedora 22 (samba 4.2.12), domain logins were working fine.
Upgraded to Fedora 23 (samba 4.3.11) and domain logins no longer work:
"Domain Controller unreachable, using cached credentials instead." Can
connect to shares on the DC (e.g., with smbclient) without problem.
Upgraded to samba 4.4.5 (from Fedora 24), issue

Storing puppet info in a database
Hi all.
We have a bunch of RHEL servers running Puppet. They are also connected to
our Red Hat Satellite server.
Currently we don''t have any master documentation system that stores all
relevant information (i.e. type of server, hardware info, linux
configuration, etc) about the servers. So what I''d like to do is implement
some sort of system that can hold all this information.
