dovcot+offlineimap+gmail: INBOX empty, mail doubled
Hello I have used for years offlineimap-6.2.0 dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9 in Kubuntu 10.04 Together with a imap server of my university. Yesterday we switched to google, which I know, is not a real imap server. Dovecot LDA, Offlineimap and Sieve
Hi, I am trying to st up Offlineimap to use Dovecots LDA to be able to use Sieve for mail filtering, but am not sure how to get this working. I think the right way would be to use 'preauthtunnel' in .offlineimaprc and try the setup below, which doesn't work. ,----.offlineimaprc | [Repository LocalRepository] | type = IMAP | preauthtunnel = ssh -q localhost

Mounting W2k3 share on Linux client.
Dear All Is it possible to mount a share hosted on a Windows 2003 box, that exists in an AD domain, on linux client. I can connect to the same share using SMBClient but cannot mount the share using mount -t smbfs. I have read on the forum that there are problems but couldn't determine if it was possible or not. If some one could clarify for me if this is possible or not I'd be grateful

trying to get incremental backups working
So I'm trying to write up a short script to do some backups over rsync. The goal is to have multiple client machines push the backups to the backup server nightly. The backup server will have a complete copy of the selected directories as well as revisions for the last 7 days. Here is the brief script I have. Btw if you're wondering about all the variables, I eventually want to set it to

I seem to have found a bug in 5.8p1. I work remotely, and use three SSH tunnels, two of the form ssh -L port:host:destport -f -N -q -l remoteuser remotehost, and one of the form ssh -D port -f -C -q -N -l

Assistance needed on using mount.smbfs (cifs) to authenticate to samba server with encrypt passwords = No.
Greetings, I am working on getting mount.cifs version: 1.11-3.2.4 on debian to mount a share on a samba server Version 3.0.13-1.1-SUSE on SuSe. This was working on older debian systems, but upon upgrading some of the systems to Lenny I am now having trouble mounting shares. Again, this was working and I have smbfs installed on the systems (which is what I used before). The samba server is set

IMAP Migration Tools
Hi, I am looking for tools to migrate Mails from one IMAP-Server to another. Until now I have always used imapsync, but it seems very slow. Even over a 2x10GB/s connection I only get speeds of about 600KiB/s, because the programm always pauses betweeen every single mail. Does anyone here have a suggestion for an alternative? Thanks in advance Julian

Samba3 shares cannot be mounted on linux box uisng cifs command , error "CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13"
well that's peculiar, as I am experiencing something different. in fact from ADUC I can see all the users belonging to the "domain users" groups. the authentication, however, does not work on that group, and the share "scrap" cannot be accessed with this config: valid users = @"Domain Users" however, I have created an auxiliarry group called domainusers

Samba3 shares cannot be mounted on linux box uisng cifs command , error "CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13"
OR is there any way, or magical hidden parmeter in the smb.conf that allows to enumerate the users in the Domain Users? tbh this has a huge impact on the file share server as many directorys have "domain users" as group ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Mario Pio Russo, System Admin SWG IT Services Dublin, Phone & FAX: +353

ControlPath versus ProxyCommand
TL;DR: I expect ProxyCommand to have effect in preference to ControlPath. I've just tripped over this one. I have an ssh Host (let us call it "MAIN") with a ControlPath and with ControlMaster=no, from the .ssh/config file. I also have a shell script whose purpose is to hop to a remote host through a port forward, which uses the ProxyCommand option like this: ProxyCommand ssh
