weird Windows profile creation
It seems weird. On 75% of my machines, it creates accounts as: c:\documents and settings\username on 25% of the machines, it creates them as: c:\docments and settings\username.DOMAINNAME These are fresh machines, so it's unclear to me where this behavior stems from. We're not using roaming profiles. Does anyone have any idea as to why this happens? thanks Chris

IP addressing migration
Hi, I am changing the IP addressing in my centOS server which works as mail server. The question I have is, if I define the new IP addresses (sub-interfaces) on the server, can I work with both ranges at the same time despite I have only one default gateway configured? (on the old range) Or may I have two default gateways in centOS? --Ivan.

creating a master share
I am trying to create a master share that contains all the other shares. I created a group that needs read+write permission to all the other shares. However, rather than adding this group in each share configuration, I was wondering if there is a way to overwrite the permission. I tried this but gave read-only access. Also in the linux level, I don't have this master group as the owner. Any

I've gone through the basics of guest access and permissions more than a few times trying to figure this one out. Approaching this from another angle, I tried the following

Question "Access Denied"
It seems that people all across the net have had issues with the particular error of "Access Denied" when an XP user attempts to join a domain - but no readily available answers are given. What might be causing this error? I'm using an Ubuntu 8.04 server with all the defaults for the Samba server installation. -- _________________________________ Joshua S. Martin
