evaluation of categorical and opinion data
Dear all.
I have some data and I seek the way to start their evaluation. The values
are from survey of different persons and their opinion about various
methods (metoda) and instrument (uzel). I am not sure where to start. I
would like to end with combination of method (metoda) and instrument
(uzel) sorted to let say three categories according to knowledge (znalost)
and influence (vliv)

sambaPwdMustChange attribute didn't get updated (3.0.27a)
Hi there,
i got into some trouble after updating my samba installation to 3.0.27a.
My installation uses Samba-3.0.27a,OpenLDAP-2.2.13,smbldap-tools-0.9.2
as a PDC NT4-domain.Originally I used the installation-guide from
smbldap-tools and everything worked fine. I also limited the access to
LDAP as told in the installation-guide with no problems.
After updating to 3.0.27a i realized that when

upgrade from 3.0.14a to 3.0.27a; CUPS log files flooding!
Hello,
I've upgraded 2 of my Samba servers (out of 100+ Samba servers) in my live
environment from version 3.0.14a to 3.0.27a.
I'm using CUPS as print system for Samba (Samba is compiled with cups-devel)
and I use the "Point 'n Print" mechanism of Samba (Windows) to provide XP
users with the appropriate drives for the attached printers.
CUPS is configured with RAW queues and

Errors encountered with 1.9.18p10 Makefile
To whom it may concern:
here are the diffs which I required to make the mentioned Makefile work.
I maintain several platforms of samba servers, and thus use the VPATH
option in the Makefile. I've been fixing installscripts.sh as well,
so that `make install` works when run from my build directory.
I'm assuming SAMBA v2.x will migrate to autoconf/configure and should
fix these issues, but

krb5.conf file in /var/lib/samba/smb_krb5; Samba 3.0.27a
Hello list,
I've upgraded from Samba 3.0.14a to 3.0.27a (Samba is a domain member of a
W2k3 native AD) and I see that in the /var/lib/samba/smb_krb5 directory a
krb5.conf file is created.
Is this krb5.conf file extracted from my original /etc/krb5.conf? Or is this
file created from the "password server =" entry in my smb.conf file?
My original /etc/krb5.conf contains the DC's in

Migration from samba-3.0.21b-i486 to samba-3.0.27a-x86_64 corrupts root group mapping
Hello.
I went and copied the config files from <source>/etc/samba/* and
<source>/var/cache/samba/* to the target server and deleted the browse.dat
and wins.dat files. The source and target servers have different IPs and
hostnames, so we use "netbios alias". This has worked fine a couple of years
ago. Now after all files have been copied, the old server shut down and the

After update to 3.6.1 -> smbd dies often ? massive brl and lock database cleanup scheduled log entries
Hi !
We updated our NT4 domain-server samba from 3.0.27a to newest available 3.6.5 version this weekend.
I've done various testing in a VM to make sure that everything is working under 3.6.5 and it all seems to run well.
After updating the live system to 3.6.5 the following log entries occur really often, but users don't have any noticable problems.

Vista SP1-rc1 appears to break against Samba-3.0.27a
We've got nicely ADS integrated Samba-3.0.27a servers that are working
fine with Win2000 through to standard Vista.
However, we are starting to test RC1 of Vista SP1 and discovered that
once applied, that workstation cannot connect to Samba server shares -
unless the share is open - i.e. no "valid user" style settings. The
moment one is defined, Vista fails to connect and pops up an

Copy file from Vista to samba share
Hi,
my Vista box does hang if I try to copy an File on an Samba share.
- Hanging does happen on both, explorer and CMD. In Explorer it
shows up to calculate how long it might take. In CMD nothing
happend.
- Afterwards Vista refuses to shut down.
- Creating an File on the Share and saving it from within notepad
does not cause any trouble.
- Limiting protocol to lanman2 seems to help

missing packaging/Fedora/makerpms.sh
I downloaded the tar.gz file for 3.0.27a and I noticed there is not a Fedora
directory inside the packaging directory. I'm fairly certain there used to be one in
older versions. I'm groping now to figure out how to build rpms for Fedora 4, which
I know is a little old but I don't have resources to upgrade the OS now. Was it
intentionally removed?
